So, after installing my new fuel pump I have a small issue...almost not even worth worrying about. But, I thought I'd just see if anyone else has seen the same thing. The install was relatively easy. The hoses were a bit difficult to take off, and getting the pump assembly out is like pulling a square peg through a round hole (which may be where my issue came from). I put the pump back in the car and off we went. Pump works great, and the car seems to start up a little quicker than before. Now, to the problem. After fueling up the other day I noticed that I'm not quite to the full mark on my gauge. We were pretty careful with the fuel level float, but it could be that something was bent or isn't sitting right in there. Anyone else run into this after messing with the fuel pump? Thought I'd check before going back in for a look. Mike
You probably bent the the float. Its easy to do cause the hole is not really big enough for the assembly.
IF it bothers you take it back out and put it back in...make sure it wasn't wedged as you put it in the tank the first time. I noticed when I installed mine the float wanted to get caught on something as i was putting it back together. I had to wiggle it a couple time to get it to seat cleanly.
