I finally finished installing a new turbo , tgv deletes, and phenolic spacers, got a base map from nuke, started it up and it ran fine. I decided to play with the HVAC controls while it was idling and whenever I turn the knob to defrost the front glass I get a loud flapping noise and my RPM's jump to 5k+ before I can quickly direct the air back to my face/feet. I proceeded to repeat this procedure a few more times and once it was stuck at 5k. I turned the engine off and when I restarted I was idling at just under 2k. Cleared the ECU from my accessport and it idled normal. Too scared to try again as I need to drive it. Does anyone have any idea?!
What year ecu is in it? Possible that the map nuke sent u might have some kind of antilag or map switching setup off the defrost button?
is the noise coming from the engine bay or dash area? and does the noise only happen when you select defrost? i wonder if the a/c compressor is sticking......
It seems that the high idle command for the A/C compressor is causing this issue. Maybe try reflashing the ECU and double checking your wiring for all the A/C stuff.
Flapping noise under my dash. It never happened before and i didn't touch my ac stuff while i was working on my car. A/c without defrost works like normal Ill give another look tonight
Ok, so using the A/C on anything but defrost works normally? Weird, and now I'm stumped. The only think I can think of is if something worked its way loose with your dash swap and it coincidentally happened after the tune. Was there any splicing of wires needed with the dash swap? Maybe double check wiring there.
Whelp i lied. Drove home from work, turned the ac on and my foot almost fell off. The rattling was shaking the gas pedal violently. It definitely cycles on and off when the compressor turns on and off. So yeah, it happens when i turn the ac on, and not just when its trying to defrost the windows
Huurrr duurrr. Popped my hood and found that my throttle cable was push down to where the ac compressor was. I guess i missed it as i finished my car at night. Thanks for the help!
