Wastegate crack

    I was looking around and I cant find what the effects of the crack on the vf39 and 43? Does it get worse can it be fixed?

    I'd say 99% of VF39's are cracked to some degree. As long as the crack isn't massive or eclipse the housing, you won't notice any effects.

    if most 39's and 43's are cracked would it be better to wait to get a 16g or a used 48?

    As I said, the crack does not typically affect reliability or performance (unless really bad). But hey, if you're worried and have the extra cash, spring for a different/larger turbo.

    I dont know I was just curious. I just dont want to drop 400$ to find out I have to do it again in 6 months for a new turbo.

    If you would read any of the responses to this thread, you'd see that your concern isnt really founded, relax, drive the car.

    What type of performance are you actually going for? If you end up going bigger in the end you could save yourself some time by getting the turbo that suits your needs.

    I have read all the posts. I was stating me thoughts to your post before it.

    I dont plan on going crazy I would like to see 280 wheel hp. If I go over that Ill be going with a hybrid build.
