I really wanted to stay but with my girlfriend feeling how he was feeling she couldnt stay any longer. It was awesome to meet all of you, and whats the plan for next week? Any suggestions? I didnt realize that bdubs would be that busy but it is a Friday night I guess. Im trying to keep it on the cheaper side for those of us not making a lot of money and all that too. I heard bowling and Im up for that and also taking any suggestions too. I wouldve been there early or on time but my girlfriend wasnt sure if she unplugged the space heater in the entry way of her work so we went back to check. Thats why she was upset and not herself tonight.

Reviving this thread. I want to gather at least five locations and I'll start a poll. I think for the spring/summer a Friday meet is a good idea.

Same, Friday's are much easier to work out in my schedule. For nicer days I'd say Surly.

I am hoping to decide on a location that is centralized, so that folks can get there easily on a Friday night. I haven't been to the new surly place, that could work.

When I was unmoderated. I used to fix this ****.

Most places will be busy Friday. But that's not the point.
Thanks for taking the lead on this Aegis. We'll sticky the poll thread when it's ready. I'll plan to make it out to the first few.

True, but if we're trying to find a more centrally located place, anywhere is going to be a zoo.

Sure, but Surly has a rather limited parking situation, so why hold a car meet where everyone drives individually there? It's bad enough on Tuesdays when we go there.

Didn't really think about it in that way. But how many places have a decently large parking lot for a decent place to meet up and have some food/drinks? Maybe somewhere out in Maple Grove? But that's a bit out of the way for a decent amount of people I'm guessing.

Well, I for one am all for it.
I've been to Surly a number of times on Friday/Saturday nights and never had an issue eventually finding parking... Cars are constantly coming and going and there are up to 4 beer lines.

imho, able seedhouse is a better winter spot (since dog friendly). a couple dog foster groups meet there weekly. No food is kinda rough as well. Small, but decent spot tho.

I mean, MOA has a ton of food options and a bigass set of ramps to find a corner of, most malls that aren't ghetto bombed out wastelands have a decent restaurant offering at or just nearby, etc. I think the days of parking lot meets being the common thing are pretty much over, so finding a destination that enough people will like that can accommodate everyone's car is the thing to look for. Otherwise, there's always actual parks, and BBQing.

Able isn't a bad idea. They don't serve food but have a couple good spots near by. Bauhaus isn't far from there either.

As far as Surly I agree. Probably wouldn't be able to all park together but plenty of street parking.

I'm newish. Is the circlejerk like reacharound style or are we all facing the center. This carries great weight in planning.

I'm up for Friday night meets. I've been trying to revive this thread but have ended up too busy on Friday nights and have almost forgotten about it. I'm also up for bbqing if we go that route. What about blainebrook off 65 they have a good size lot and have bowling food and bar in one. Or madjacks im brooklyn park has good food. Most places have decent parking in riverdale depending on where you go as well

Maybe some Friday night events would be fun? I mean like proper events, not meets. Concerts and such. There's a number of people here I would love to "meet" in the pit at 1st ave. :coffee:

    Has anyone ever tried
    Tasty Pizza - Hangar 45
Central Plaza, 875 45th Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55421

Looks like there is a nice little park not to far from there fairly centralized(yea yea I know its more north then central but unless you want to be in downtown you either have to go north or south cant really be actually centralized)...Never been there myself was just cruising the good maps looking for a centralized location with varying food options close by and a park. Area could suck who knows but its an idea to check out.

Not to mention there are literally a dozen other places right off 65 if we decide we get sick of one place. This way we can still be in a general area instead of oh this week we are going here for Friday night meet its 20 miles from our normal spot.

Is that Flameburger still out there on 65? That would be a great place. There's also the one on rice st in St Paul.

Centralized - was thinking about places that anyone from the twin cities metro and suburbs can get to easily.

@JasonoJordan that place they are putting in on 70th street in town might be good for rounding up the CG/Woodbury/Hastings/Prescott folks for impromptu meets :) I have it on my radar for later.
