Sweet! I picture it as a bright purple room with a disco ball and black leather chairs and on the top of the MNsubaru/forums page it has different color lettering!! BTW thats sweet that it's an automatic thing that brings the threads up

it only brings up threads that when a mod does something to them like move it or assign points etc. Its not very exciting.

well thank you, and i respect your point of view. Honestly, we don't care about drama, most drama on here is fun. However, we do care about keeping this site somewhat clean and not the new mn site that people just dump **** on. When certain members start drama we'll jump on it as soon as we can. Yes, sometimes our return action creates more drama. Personally, I don't expect anything else out of this site. But ya know, there's another way to look at it. If a few immature members (not discriminating against age) need to get the boot and maybe learn a lesson then I'm all for it. Again, it's not a dumping hole it's MNSubaru. If people want to talk **** they can go somewhere else. If they don't and continue it here they will be given the boot.

eventually we are hoping certain members catch on...it's mnsubaru. we dont want this to be a dumping ground for crap, there's sooooo many other car forums for that.

seriously, it's not a big request.

None of you get it. None of you will ever get it. Christ this is stupid.

My point is this, and i'm gonna say it loud and clear.

WE ALL LOVE SUBARUS. WE ARE ALL SUPPOSED TO BE FRIENDS. WHEN YOU CREATE CLIQUES IT MAKES PEOPLE FEEL LIKE THEY ARE NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. STOP IT. STOP IT NOW. GET ALONG. BE MERRY. IF YOU DON'T LIKE SOMEONE, TELL THEM IN PM.

This place - i know and understand it's supposed to be pg-13. I do NOT agree with the mods when they move something just because they think it's "post whoring"

OFFTOPIC DOES NOT CREATE POST COUNTS ANYMORE. WHY DOES IT MATTER?

If you want me to pay for the site, I will. I will NOT pay to support some of these rules that are in place. t3hw00t be damned, I don't care. I don't ****ing care if Jason and I agree - we don't agree on mnsubaru, but he has been telling me. We have never agreed. I have sided with mods here most of the time - and they don't even believe that i have!! They think I'm just another t3hw00t leghumper! STOP THAT.

    Also.

    You live in Minnesota.

    You own subarus.

    GET OVER YOURSELVES.

And I know I'm gonna get points for this, but at least my first points are going to be for something 99.99999999999 of the site agrees on!!!

I don't see anything worth giving points for, I agree with almost everything you are saying.

I think its great that you can make points counter to the opinion of agitators and they don't lash out at you, its nice to have a voice of reason around.

I agree, the problem with the cliques of people is that when someone in a clique gets some sort of disciplinary action, others will start to get upset. I don't blame t3hw00t.com because some of their members cross over, in fact I understand the point readymix was making that he doesn't enjoy that site getting filled up with pointless mnsubaru drama anymore than anyone here cares for it.

And what is really sad is that I'm seeing alot of the same things I saw back in early 06. only this time it isn't me causing it or leading it. People are bitching again. And I brought this up to bikerboy right after the Ice Races too. People don't like feeling like lesser humans because they don't belong to the upper echelon of admins/mods. When they start a thread asking for animated avatars, and an admin with an animated avatar comes in and says "NO, you can't have them, you abuse them." It makes them feel like children. I know it seems stupid, but the reason I've had NO drama on t3hw00t since day one, aside from Ray's childish bull****, is because EVERY SINGLE ADMIN acts like they are just another user. Nobody power trips, nobody talks down, nobody uses powers that regular users can't use, and if they do, it is offered up to ALL users as something...like user titles, avatars, etc... When you start treating the members like children, they will react like children.
If any of the admins on t3hw00t started doing things like the animated avatar thing, or just handing out 'infractions' (we don't have that) for things that seemed trivial just for the sake of control, I'd be quick to ask why. And the answer had better be a good one. We don't do infractions because it feels like something you do to kids when they are in kindergarten...giving stars for good behavior and 'de-merits' for bad behavior. All points do is make people resent being a member here and being controlled by other admins. Clear rules, and mature, adult responses to problems make people feel like their peers are advising them instead of instructing them. We are all adults here, and if someone can't take adult advice like an adult, ban their ass. The only ban we have had on t3hw00t was from a guy that was trying to sell some free Windows OS disks he had recieved for free for 50 bucks a pop. When people called him out for selling them stuff he got for free (he told us they were free for him) he got whiney. I told him "hey man, you told them you got them free, don't feel bad when they get pissed that you are trying to sell stuff you got for free at a near premium price." Well, he got bent and said some childish things, so I banned him. On the spot. I say, leave the infractions and banning for people that can't take advice and criticism like adults. If you tell them "hey, that is in violation of the rules man, please try to keep it clean" and they protest, ban them. ANd then post up what they said to get banned in public where everyone can see what kind of behavior earns a ban.

i agree with Jason on this as well, i dont see why we need to have a system to demoralize the members. Give us a warning, tell us why, talk to us about it. No need to be pricks about it, flex your muscles and try and beat down on the members for minuscule ****. I am not claiming innocents, i know what some of the things that have been said about me are....and those are blown out of proportion and skewed, but even still, i have never had a problem when i was told why i was being warned. i push buttons, no crap, but atleast i do it to everyone and i put up with alot of crap at the same time. You claim we cry out, you do the same thing, you just use your power and status to show how you feel. apparently, its wrong for us to voice our thoughts and concerns, but thats because this is the internet... serious business right.

I totally agree with you Jason. That's the benefit of your site, people can act as they want without someone monitoring there ass. Your lucky

Maybe it's time for some updates/revisions to site the rules? I'll approach the mods and admins and see what they think.

my origional point (how worthless infractions are) that for some reason had been overlooked when i first argued agenst them.

ive read that this site is trying to get a better rep. but i dont think this site could get much better. i love how much fun it is to go online and be social with everyone on here even if its a silly, pointless, offtopic thread. moving forward would include creating a better base for subaru information. On that note ive read time and time that if you want to get technical information not to bother with our site because thats what Nasioc and other larger national forums are for. so whats wrong with a little immature fun. i can unerstand being more focused on keeping the crazy offencive material out. but i can get a kick out of reading a For sale thread about a Rock, haha. threads that have no point will usually die out shortly. one the most entertaining of them will last for pages and pages.

I can't tell you how much I would support a system like this, unfortunately I think its weakness is that people assume "closed door dealings" are leading to things and conspiracy theories start to abound.

but still all things said and done I;d rather do things the way described above rather than have a point system. The point system is something i saw as largely irrelevant to start with as the points are essentially meaningless as nobody has ever racked up enough to be banned just for getting points here and there.

but i see positives and negatives in both and really can't think of any perfect solution, I dont think anyone really has.
