I tried to put an Ebay crank pulley on. The aluminum was so soft that it folded over on the detent and I was unable to get it on the car. Boo.

I did, however, get my new springs and tranny and engine mounts. I just need the tophats and I'll be ready to go all out.

I had no problems until I tried to put the new one on. I even put anti-seize on it.

I figured the hard part would be getting the crank bolt out but... no issues there.

The starter trick works fine....now for tightening, someone on the brake with it in 1st or reverse works good for tightening (though it may not be tight enough)

you're right...I've used a big torque wrench to tighten it, that will do the trick!:) the leverage gets you the torque it needs.

Yep ^ I have two car seats in my car from time to time but there both forward facing so they fit right behind the driver and passanger seats.

I coasted into a gas station doing the whole "GIMME JUICE YOU %#(@&%(#@%#*%(#@" fuel starvation hiccups, during the mother of all rain storms.

Then the pump screwed up printing my receipt, and I had to run inside... figures, right?

did some photoshop work. and yes I'm copying skarecow (no not really, I've been planning on having Dave do some vinyl camo work on the car since spring)

haven't really found a good way to do digital camo yet (I'm not really good at photoshop lol)

Go for the digital camo Carl, that looks good.

Anyway, I tried again to get the axle nuts loose on those rear hubs I bought. I finally figured out how to keep it from turning (spare tire, 8' long 4x4, ratchet straps and a wheel chock), but I then proceeded to snap off my breaker bar. Time to go buy some stronger tools.

I finally got all the grass out of the car, and cleaned some brake dust off the goldies. Also beat the dirt out of the air filter and checked my tranny fluid while I was at it too.

Tried to go find a helmet today, but the only one that fit properly wouldn't allow me to put my glasses on. Hmm...

Drove it for the first time in a week (was on vacation in Vegas).

Drove a Dodge Nitro through 100 miles of dirt roads in AZ around Grand Canyon West and was so dissapointed I had flown down instead of took the Subie. OMFG - amazing dirt roads.

Ordered some sound dampening for my doors and trunk panels, and also threw down on a set of hella 500 driving lights to replace the empty holes my fog lights were in before a snowbank took them and my bumper this winter.

I've been driving between here and san diego almost every weekend, and I made a nice list of things I want for the car. Better lighting for driving at night, plus a quieter interior makes me a happy me! heres to hoping it gets here before the weekend so I have a project!

and qstarin, I know what you're talking about! gotta love the desert roads. I really could use more suspension clearance, skids, and some mud flaps before I go nuts, but I can still have my fun as it is.

What kind of damping material did you buy? (I got B-Quiet Ultimate - check this site out: http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/)

I can testify that it makes a HUGE difference in road noise in my car. Drove around before with the back seats out and could hear every little pebble from the road. Afterwards I couldn't hear a blessed thing.

Don't be afraid to do multiple layers in many areas (like the whole floor of the car and the doors) - it doesn't weigh all that much but makes a HUGE difference.

And I envy your road trips - no fair!! (but it's okay - snow is coming!)

Installed my gauges on Sunday. Was allot easier that I thought. Used the little hole under the clutch pedal to run the lines and tapped into my cruise control button for power. Everything works great!

Tom, I told you those swaybars are a huge improvement! And isnt the WRX rear sway 18mm? I coulda sworn it was...

Qstarin, I ordered EDesigns teklight. Im not trying to control bass levels, just to eliminate road noise. I've used their products several times, and I LOVE the edead vs1, but didnt order any. I'm curious to see what using simply the teklight will do. Since subaru doors are so thin, most of the road noise is a higher frequency. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss! haha.

And dont be jealous, I would kill to be in MN for fall, AND winter. Lived there my whole life and wont settle for anything less.

Extending the Minnesota love from me to everyone.
