Changed a flat tire on the way to work today..... tires are exactly 3 months old and I did not see anything in the tire itself. Must have been some of the downed tree debris from saturdays storms on my street... oh well....

^That's a really sick pic man!

My buddy and I successfully lost a jug and a half of coolant all over my driveway. It didn't look like I was getting coolant in the upper radiator hose, so we decided to replace the thermostat. Well we were impatient and my friend pressured me into just "manning up and doing it". I ended up getting hot coolant in my eye and all over my arms...Turns out the thermostat was good since there was actually coolant getting past it and into the motor.

installed the perrin rear diff subframe lock down kit, stopped my annoying rattling/clunking i had going on that got really bad with the exedy stage 2 clutch. Also I would like to inform people who are wondering where to put your jack stands in the rear, don't put them on the bracket that supports the swing arm pivot, you end up bending the plate up and the swing arm hits it cause those bushings are so loose (which now are stiffened with the lock down kit), making a lot of noise when there is pulsing torques (when the engine isn't suppling power but isn't slowing the car, just shacking the drivetrain). If you have jacked there and get a lot of noises coming from your rear end, take those plates off and hammer them flat again or stop eating beans.

I have the kartboy ones in mine, but maybe that's where my new noise is coming from in the rear since I always put my jackstands there.... hmmmm

What really sucks is that not I have to go buy more haha. haha but seriously, I'm just bugged that we didn't figure out the problem, or if there is even a problem in the first place! I'll have to do some more investigating tomorrow.

Was that clunking at take off or when shifting? My 02 has a very chattery clutch and I tend to get a clunk from the rear if I don't slip the clutch perfectly from a stop. I'm wondering if this is the solution. Did it make a noticeable difference for you?

That sucks! I had to change three tires the first year I was in Phoenix, but escaped the last two years with none, thank God! Just when my luck was getting better I have to sell my car!

Start the engine, fill it with coolant untill it gets full, KEEP THE CAP OFF untill a little after the fans come on, some coolant may overflow, its just burping itself, dont be afraid to rev it a little to get it circulating (once its warm)

I'm not gunna say you're wrong, but here's what I did tonight and it worked like a charm...

Since there's no coolant in the motor at all, the water pump will not function the way it should and therefore not get coolant up to the upper radiator hose. It's a weak pump and works better with a little vacuum/siphon action. So I back filled the system through my upper radiator hose until the coolant came up to the hose. I then connected that to the radiator and filled the rest through the radiator. After the radiator was full I threw on a funnel and burped the lower radiator hose and added coolant until there were no more bubbles. p.s I did this all with the motor off. If you run the car and try to fill it through the cap, it will not pressurize the way it would normally. I then let the car run for 30 mins or so and it successfully did not over heat :)

i hear from my mechanic friend at muscatell that bending those plates is a very common problem and source of most of the noises in the rear of the car. it is the first thing they check when complaints of noise are made.

correction: it's not the swing arm pivot, it's the mount for the rear diff front crossmember, the plates are Number 5 in the attached picture. Sorry, it was late

not so much taking off forward, if i pop the clutch in R, it clunked a bit, it did it shifting if i didn't have a very clean shift, and also when I would lift at certian speeds.

Yesterday replaced the TR Impreza seats with actual WRX seats. Feels much better! Also, Turbo_Turtle and Derek bled the clutch fluid for me while I was working on the seats. Thanks guys! Clutch feels tighter and more responsive now.

I'll definitely give you credit for the driver side sensor, but I was trying to go for a Death Proof car and have the passenger airbag disabled until you figured out how to get the bladder out ;) . The Plumber was the first to try out shotgun, and the light turned on, so it's good to go!

Almost need to claybar yearly on a daily driver. I'm having the most problems with the road tar up in Duluth. They just toss tar out of trucks up here and don't even flatten/pack it down anymore.

flogged it good on a 10 mile twisty road, back end only stepped out twice.
