The mats fit perfectly and look great. They cover the whole floor front and back. Can't believe I'm saying this, but (in the '11 anyway) they are worth the cash. I have clients in my car all day so good all weather mats are a must during the MN winter/spring... Lest my floors get trashed.

For the money, I would go Weather Tech. They cover better than any other mat plus have sidewalls to keep the water in... best investment, IMO

Installed some Hella Horns last night!

Last night when the snow started to fall I just couldn't resist... I took out the new car and spent a few hours getting to know it's inherent nature to go sideways when the traction control is turned off. As I was driving around SW Mpls and the Calhoun Isles neighborhoods on city streets I was taking it very easy, keeping my fun limited to empty streets and 1st or 2nd gear (safety first of course). I've gotta say that it's truly amazing (once a novice to AWD gets the hang of it) how effortless it is to get the thing sideways. And more amazingly, once sideways how easy it comes right back into line. To offset all of this fun I also discovered that these types of winter shenanigans result in 14.1 MPG according to the little readout of the dash... oh well, I guess you have to pay to play. That said, I really can't wait for a REAL snow storm now:).

Point taken. I've just always preferred to be a moving target as opposed to a stationary one waiting for a cop to drive by. That said I am searching for a quite secluded lot to visit the next time the ground turns white. Guessing I'll have to venture into the burbs to find what I'm looking for.

Put the bronze wheels back on it. It's rainy season here now, and the old Azenis were well past the wear bars :eek3: The bronze ones are shod with some Toyo T1Rs that have plenty of meat left on them, but I really don't like the 205/40-17 sidewall profile. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a fresh set of summers on it when the rains pass, and get back up to a 225/45-17.

Mind you, the shorter tyres *do* make it accelerate faster.

Everything about this is awesome. What are you up to? Roll cage? Racing seats? Please tell me you're not filling it with subs or reupholstering everything in velvet... as cool as that would be.

I hope those new snow tires are as good as I think they are.

And tomorrow the ASCC Winter Rally from Duluth to Grand Marais assuming it doesn't get snowed out. Fingers crossed!

[Disclaimer: I didn't do this, it was my friend that I let drive for about 5 minutes.]

We were in the hills north of Grand Marais last weekend and he "just had to show me this awesome road he knew about". It turns out that in the winter this awesome road is a snow mobile trail. That would be my WRX half in a ditch and roughly 150 feet back is a tow truck...

    View attachment 24023

The car was fine. Luckily he ditched it close to the main road!

I on the other hand was able to navigate the Winter Rally we participated in last weekend without issue. Fun video of me falling victim to under-steer/traction control and pooching an e-brake switchback coming soon. No ditch on that one though:)!

Not really a today thing but on sunday turbo_turtle installed a new clutchmaster fx300 clutch in my lgt for me. Word of advise never over torque your t50 flywheel bolts. Its makes taking them off really hard.

Oh yeah Turbo_turtle is the man!!!!

Bought a Spec Stage 3+ clutch and Precision Turbo 5557. Will install in next couple weeks down in Sioux Falls. Also getting id1000s, Walbro pump, fuel rails, EWG, BOV, EBC, not sure what else I'll need. Probably a handful of things that will cost too much. :D Will be installed by me and Jared from Speed Techniques and then Jared will tune it on his dyno. With the stock intercooler, i should be looking at 375whp or so. We'll see what intake temps look like. New TMIC will come this winter/spring as well as better/bigger exhaust and 450-500awhp.

Maybe not, but Jared seems to think 350 will come pretty quickly. We'll watch the intake temps and see what it can do. Once I pick up a good TMIC we'll turn up the wick.

Man even with a good Spearco you are going to heat soak after a few pulls... I was thinking of running a TMIC with a GT3076R but IMHO you need a FMIC if you are going anything above a 18g or MAYBE a 20g but with a turbo that size and a stock TMIC idk man

Lets not be so negative man... You can disagree but shoot him some ideas as to how to help not just say what he is doing is wrong... He has a lot of nice parts going into his car so props for that but he definatly needs to do a little more research before he throws that much HP at a stock TMIC

not meaning to be so negative just letting him know it prob wont happen with a stock tmic. Ok running what for fuel and lets be realistic thats on MAPs dyno imo not real numbers. imo if u want to get a good idea of what real power u are putting down run it on a mustang dyno.

And it has less to do with air temps and more to do with the volume of air that can flow through the IC.

Same shop put together an '06 STi with the same turbo, aftermarket TMIC made 500awhp... for comparison, my stocker (only has SPT open intake) made 234 as I drove it in, mild open-source tuning has it at 255 without really doing much. That 500 number is on E85 btw...

you just say that cause no one's done it yet.

A dyno is just a tool, it doesn't actually matter what the number is, just the change between what it was and what it is now. Also the power/torque curve. Too many people put too much faith in the final number, get off it already. The only numbers that really matter as far as pure power go in our genre of cars is the 1320.

Zero came over, picked me up and took me for a ride in my own car. Still have 6 - 8 weeks before I can drive. Filled up on E85 and got a car wash. Car sat for a week and had no start up issues with the E85. This made me very happy. :)
