2008 wrx its gotta be the recirculating type, the one they sold me were to different models of Turbosmart brand and DB got me the cobb one that I orginally wanted. It can't be a straight to atmosphere style do to the system subaru runs on the 08 and newer.

I know of an 09 that runs an HKS ssqv, it runs fine. Though he has the process west intercooler.

could be the difference. Like I said I'm new to the do it your self subaru stuff. My last two subarus were in arizona and I walked into Dynocomp and said I want this see ya in a week come back and bam car was the shizz. Havn't found a go to shop around here on AWD. My turbo fox body was all done at hightech in elk river. So the main thing that ticked me off was just customer service I mean I live in princeton and had to drive down to plymouth 2 days in a row both for the wrong part.

BPV/BOV (vent to atmosphere / recirculate) wasn't actually what I was wondering about, but the subsequent posts have answered my questions I believe. The prior models of the WRX and all STI's have a round opening on the TMIC where the BPV mounts. The new WRX's have a diamond shaped hole that uses a special diamond shaped gasket. Many BPV/BOV's are sold for the 08+ WRX and only come with a round o-ring seal. This will not seal against the OEM TMIC unless you epoxy it in place. The COBB unit actually comes with a flat gasket that does seal. On just about any aftermarket TMIC the hole is still round, so all BPV's work just fine.

If you buy a universal one they want you to weld them in not opoxy, also I bought the one the was just for my car and was told it would bolt on with the diamond shaped plate. The first one was a universal and I'm not welding it in and the 2nd was for an 07 hence my distaste. I have talked to DB and COBB service line they say it will seal right up and bolt right on.

you don't weld anything on, they normally come with adapter plates/flanges for subaru applications.

    I found this today...

And here I thought my struts were just clunking, sad thing is they don't sound much different now. Guess I'll need some new rear 04' STi struts and new GC8 tophats.

I was planning on it yesterday (and Sunday on Lake Cynthia), but that's gonna have to wait until I figure out a radiator solution. Either used until Spring when I'll have more time for a permanent solution, stock replacement for $150 online (temporary), custom aluminum, try to track down a koyo or pwr (texa$$), or fit a different radiator in there (saab or jeep seems to work). The thing is so much time went into retaining the stock radiator dimensions (specifically clearance for the lower hose and mounting) that I feel like I should stick with stock dimensions.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with MAP and Morrie's Brooklyn Park, Dirtyracing. Can't speak for Morrie's BP, but I've always heard bad things about MAP. Highly inflated dyno numbers, service issues, and now the one thing I though they were good for, ordering parts, seems to be not the case.

Should be changing the black stuff on the GF's car and mine on V-Day. It's my present to them.

You really think they would weld an aluminum BPV onto a plastic TMIC end?

got backed into in the Target parking lot

i think the subaru gods hate me. in the past 8 months, i've been backed into 4 times (i was never moving either, always stationary). 3 times in the RS coupe, and now once in my BK. at first, i though i just had bad luck with the RS, but apparently not.

why is it so damn hard to use a rear view mirror?! and why is it that people always try to say that it was NOT their fault, and that it was all mine, when i was parked every time i've been hit? i'm never parked illegally when it happens, always where i should be parked. is it just an over-abundance of extremely stupid people? or do i just have extremely bad luck/karma for some reason? i am really getting sick of it. the insurance checks have been nice, but i really would like to go for a while without being crashed into. it just stresses me out, and wastes my time. so PLEASE, people of MN... QUIT BACKING INTO ME!!!!!

    /rant.

Well on the bright side atleast you were compensated when I was driving my girlfriend's brother's FX45, it got hit in the best buy parking lot and the guy ran off. I come back to the car with a huge dent and white paint scratched into it.

    that is very true.

ive been fortunate enough to never have the person that hit me run off, and ive always gotten a decent payout to cover the damage too.

thank you for putting that in perspective for me sir :)
    its much appreciated.

I had to replace a headlight yesterday. Passenger side. Silly little air duct had to come off to change the bulb. That was a hole 30 seconds. Was going to change both, but didn't want to take the 90 seconds to take out my battery, so I could access that bulb on the driver side. That side still worked, so now I have a spare bulb. Sweet.

That right there is why I live in the sticks. We have douche bags up here just less of them. I hate parking anywhere down there because almost no one has any respect or intestinal fortitude. I makes me want to go on a killing spree more because they are worthless scum then the fact that they hurt my car although that doesn't help. I work for my **** and respect that other people do also so I try not to ruin there property but it seems other just don't care or have no concept of responsibility. Ok sorry rant off.

hopefully it will buff out, most probably will. The paint is cracked in one spot though. knowing my luck surface rust has probably formed if there is any bare metal below the crack as it was exposed to all the moisture/salt as of late.

^^love the use of the zip ties, well done.
