installed used 05 STi radiator from vangstaboi on my 02 bug, put back stock air box on top of perrin shroud, added redline wetter coolant additive, lube rusty nuts, clean engine, air blow dust inside engine, top mount, radiator, pulleys, alternator, alot of sand and dust! Oil change, feel really good now.

I put on the new hood which was ordered from bumper warehouse prior to me buying the car. Ofcourse the fitment isn't perfect. But it might be because my radiator support is tweaked from when prev owner hit a deer... top pass is tweaked a little and i'm pretty sure the pass side panel is too. I also got the new (used) hood scoop on too, no more broken hood scoop and dented hood and cracked up front bumper! Let's just say I've got a project on my hands. =)

Drove it back from Wisconsin... The Forester got 30.6 MPG this afternoon. 28+ going up, ~30 on the way back. Very happy with this car.

yea, I think I saw that write-up. Fortunately Jesse (jrex) has a hoist that he is going to let me use tonight. Hopefully will be a bit easier to access the mounts. I hear the passenger side is the fun side

Over the past couple weeks I've put on the summer wheels, lowering springs, and a Varis carbon exhaust shield. Had a friend take a few pics yesterday.

Oh, and today I performed surgery on one of my ballasts because it got water in it. Luckily I was able to fix it. For those of you thinking of clearing your headlights... take the time to make sure they are sealed good when you put them back together! I had to do it twice :(

BINGO! I had an issue getting the TMIC back in place the first time... the hose wasn't perfectly put back in place. I loosened, twisted a tiny bit, and the intercooler fit on perfect! Good thing it isn't any heavier, my arm is still weak from being broken and it was boarder line pushing my limits adjusting it. But all is well. Went for a test drive and car wash... seems to be fine.

Got the group n mounts done last night and it wasn't too bad. Only one battle wound (smashed hand), almost stripped a thread, and a couple donor parts from Jesse's car :)

Overall, really wasn't a bad job. The key to removing the difficult rear mounting bolts, is to place your ratcheting wrench on the nut, and then have someone else hold a pry bar against the wrench so it stays on the nut. Connect another wrench to the open end of the ratcheting wrench for more leverage, and you're golden.

Thanks again Jesse for the help (and parts) !

It's a custom aftermarket 6" sub. I just quick hooked up a 35x35 watt amp (non-bridgeable) that I found stored away. It hits hard, but could use more power and filtering I think. I got lows and highs now, but nothing in the middle range really.

As for a stock Subaru woofer, I recently installed one into Tonie's car. Gave her some more bass on top of her already awesome system.

Took the car on a little shake-down lap of Blaine to work any kinks out of the setup before autox this weekend.

BIR = Brainerd International Raceway. ;)

I'm guessing he meant that he took it for some "spirited" driving around the city of Blaine.

Those are 10k/8k springs. (clarification: BC inverted coilovers)

Yup, I'll be at autox. Note that it was moved to canterbury due to flooding. You gonna run at all this season? I'll bet all your new toys put you in some dumb class, huh?

Who's coilovers are you running, that was not something that you ran last year was it? My car would have already been in ST I believe. This over the last couple of weeks it has received a brakes and RCE yellow springs, I dont know if that would change my class. Oh and tuning for E-85. Did you ever get some real tires? Tire rack just cleared out 12 225/45/17 VR700's for about 80/piece.

They're BC inverted coils. I was totally stock last year. Yup, got some real tires.

ST huh? I thought you had a different turbo and more in there for some reason. All I know is more boost = BSP and a different turbo means something more. If you're still on the stock turbo, you may be in BSP with me. I don't know what porting and things do either.

I may be confused with the classes and know that when I was at the midway even it was tough to get an answer on what class the car would fall into. The turbo is not stock and I know one guy I was talking to said it would be some crazy fast class? Regardless I will get out a couple of times this year and get abused by the people who actually know how to drive their cars ;)

What all have you done with your car? Nuke is going to be tuning the car Sat morning so hopefully I will be able to make it down to the auto-x to poke around a little.

well drove the car only from dans over in bloomington back to my house in eagan so far and im already a believer. The struts are amazing! Its like the perfect combination of handling from a soft coil over and the ride comfort of a stock wrx strut. In this case you really can have your cake and eat it to.
