Got the rear end of the car back together last night, swapping the tranny soon here hopefully, fabbed up my BOV flange and positioned it on the piping today. Hoping to have the new front end here this weekend from Cornfed and getting it back on the road finally.

AEM Digital Wideband O2 Gauge (in the cubby in the middle):

Hardwired a serial cable, but I'm still working on getting it to log correctly. Lots of blue screens. I think I have a bad driver for my serial to USB cable...

that or if u have a laptop that has a physical not a solid state hard drive it can cause issues. When i tryed logging up north with my normal laptop i got lots of blue screens because of the laptop hard drive getting so much vibration it would shut itself down to not corrupt data.

I never got out of the garage, so that's the not the issue. Good suggestion though. I hadn't considered that.

I have logged with this laptop before. Usually works OK, but the USB seems to be easily bumped and lose connection.

G_2.5rs came over and took some shots. (Then I took a cell phone shot)

Washed the car... I also cleaned out the inside of my headlights. I took an extended bolt grabber, attached a cotton ball to it and soaked it in alcohol. Then went through the high beam hole in the headlights. The cotton left some stands of cotton so I switched / cleaned it with gun cleaner cloths attached instead. It worked pretty good. Here is an action shot.

    And washed it.

Finally installed the new battery so I had it fired up for the first time in 3 months. Ugh. Also checked the tyres, oil and coolant while I was at it, and softened the shocks up a bit as they were set far too firm for the city roads round here. Now to get it to the mechanic so I can get the leak checked out. It looks to be either the front of the rear diff or the fuel tank, neither of which is good. Sigh.

Drove my car home yesterday from the cabin and my Boost Gauge was working, woke up this morning for work and my Boost Gauge is not working... all the hoses are still connected, and the plastic T connector looks fine.... I guess I get to start digging.

He has a ProSport I think.

    Does it power on (electrica)?
Does it read right at 0psi (mechanical)?

Did you check the BPV to manifold hose (manifold side)? You can't see it unless you take off the intercooler. Mine popped of last week and that caused the gauge to read right at 0psi.

    Correct

It has power. IT is a mechanical issue, or the gauge is bad. I am putting my money on boost leak.

I just did a quick check when i filled up with gas this morning. The back of the gauge is still secure. The lines are all intact in the engine bay. Nothing had blown off, and the "T" connection looks fine. As long as the weather holds off tonight I am going to dive into it after work. Looks like I won't be at Calhoun.

When I was having issues with mine, it had power but it was a bad connection. This caused the needle to stay pegged at full boost. Rewired and all was well.

Well if there isn't a leak I will try that before I order a new gauge. I am going to check my boost lines first... I am guessing something has a hole or cracked... I hope

Did you check that BPV to manifold line? You can't see the manifold end connection, but if you pull on the hose, you can probably tell if it is disconnected.

I checked the top part of it but I did not dig into anything. I just made sure every connection I could see was in tact. I was thinking my T connection blew, or the hose fell off of that. I did look at the BPV hose, but I did not pull on it at all. I have not thrown any codes but there was once or twice were the idle seemed off. I also wasn't hitting my target boost this weekend... so now that i think about it that might make sense.

Yeah, if that one pops off idle will be pretty rough, and my car would only hit like 8-9psi. I'd pull the intercooler, and then follow that BPV hose past the T and see if it's loose. I think I had e-mailed you about this a few days ago :)

no it isn't a very bad idle. it was way worse when those rubber caps failed. The gauge was reading 19 PSI instead of 23 PSI.... so maybe that isn't the issue. I guess time will tell. Looks like no rain tonight so I hope to have it all fixed up by sun down.

Sounds like a very minor leak, but if the gauge is pegged at 0psi and not moving, it seems that the gauge is reading ambient pressure only (which would likely be a pretty major leak). I'm sure you'll be able to find it once you poke around enough.

Derek, have you checked against the ecu to see if the gauge is reading correctly? There may other issues causing you to make less than target boost.

Yeah i know, I am just hoping my two problems are related. I noticed the boost was low this weekend and was going to talk to Nuke about it, we needed to meet up and log my tune/car anyways. When my gauge stopped working this morning I was hoping that the two were related... maybe a leak was keeping me from boosting where I was at last week. Although the more I think about it the less I feel that they are related. I guess we will see tonight. I will attempt to fix the gauge first, then I will see where my boost is hitting. Also you bring up a good point, i never really did a data log to see if my gauge is even reading correctly. Once i get it from reading only "0" maybe I will log it tonight. I think my cousin has a cable... if not then i guess i will have to drive the whole 1/2 mile over to Nukes house and bug him later this week.

Its possible the gauge just died. The prosports are not the most reliable gauges from what I heard.
