+1 for the hand wash trumping Holiday and "touchless" car washes = wasted $. I did the same to mine and the wife's Mazda 6; vigorous hand washing, waxings, tire shine, wheel polish, mothers back to black, windexed windows, rain-x, vacuuming, armor all application, cabin air filter changes (mine was disgusting with leaves and needles laying atop), and some other random things in an evening. Needless to say, I was exhausted when I was done but quite proud of the recently accomplished tasks.

Did a maintenance bonanza on my new to me STi this weekend. Start at the back and worked my way forward, differential, transmission, coolant and sparkplugs. I really hate Subaru spark plugs, the rear drivers side one was particularly unfriendly. Also replaced the factory stereo with a nice aftermarket one.

The Subaru Extra S gear lube worked really well. Shifts nice and smooth.

Put rear frozen rotors and hawk hps pads on my Impreza. Front pads should hopefully be here tomorrow so I can get them installed.

Picked up my 05 STI yesterday with high speed gears and ppg billet selector forks (rallispec) freshly installed. Feels like a brand new tranny! Looks like around 85mph at redline (stock) in 3rd, I'll have to do a log to confirm. Can't wait to get on the track!

    Derek's secrete weapon for E85
Make sure to click E85 on the left side and Public under advanced options.

    Try that Bro.

I went over to Mr. Turbo Turtle's house and installed my HP+ pads and did a brake bleed for BIR on Monday. Mr. Tran showed up, his car was already there and under the knife. It was a great time hanging out with both of them. The brake break-in was interesting!

Oh and I am pretty sure Dan is also a Dr.

    See the proof.....

Hey Derek, you should let me know how you like those HP+ pads. I have them in the front and love them!!!! Even with all the squeaks :)

BTW, Dan scares me in that picture. Not gonna lie.

So far I am very impressed with the brakes. BIR on Monday will be a great test for them, even if I have never run OEM pads on a track before (to compare). I did have stop and go traffic all the way into the office this morning and they worked great. No noise yet, but then again Dan helped me install and lube them, and he always does a good job with his work. So I am not that shocked that they aren't making noise. I do have very dark wheels now! The yellow is going to be a PITA to keep clean.

The Dr. is only here to help you..... and inject break fluid into your veins :alien:

They all show the same stations. Even the web links showing all E85 stations in the state show a bunch that I have checked out and can verify that they don't have E85. It seems I live in a dead spot for E85, I have two stations within 20 miles of me. I just have to make sure I don't let the tank get down too far.

Yeah. They perform really well once you get some heat into them. Mine didn't start to squeak until I put about 500 Miles on them. I'm glad I painted my wheels BBQ black :) Unless you really pay attention to my lug nuts, it's hard to tell there is any brake dust on them. Have fun at BIR!

Installed some new front speakers last night. I also put on a Perrin shorty antenna. Can't do much too my 2.5i but it's the little things that count. Later this week is front and rear shifter bushings followed my a short shifter.

got rid of the mostly bald, cupped and worn out re01r tires and installed some new sticky cooper rs3 tires. So far so good. Not quite as nimble as the re01r's, but they will definitely handle what I will throw at them, plus the ride is sooooo much better.

How many HP does the SPT 710 cap add? It looks pretty compared to the stock yellow 710 cap.

Had to replace my first turn signal on my car. This involved a battery pull, so it was pretty easy. I was shocked that the actual bulb is in a cavity inside the body of the car. You can't really see it, you just have to feel. Which is easy to take out... but putting it back in was sort of weird. I had to look through the hole in the turn signal to guide it in because there was no way I could see where it was going. Simple process but very interesting. Made me realize i need a ratcheting 10mm wrench or deep 10mm socket for the battery tie down.

Wanted to buy more brake lube but they didn't have the right stuff @ O'Reilly's.... so maybe I will hit up NAPA tonight. I seemed to burn all of mine off @ BIR and now the HP+'s are very squeaky.

You don't use too much of that stuff as it may get on the pad surface. Consider your HP pads now bedded and broken in. LOL ;) One technique you could use is late braking, this will hush the pads and not allow them enough time to heat up. :p

Yeah I will make sure not to get anything on the pad. I watched where Turbo Turtle put the lube and he made sure I understood why he is putting it where he was. The last thing I want to do is make my pads and rotors unusable due to misapplication. The late braking does work good, but when I have my dogs in the car it isn't really an option.... due to their size they just fly into my seat if I do something like that. The noise isn't too big of an issue, but since I can do something about it I figure i will.

Put a 7psi spring in my TiAL 50mm BOV tonight. The 9psi spring was giving me some surge at part throttle. We'll see if the 7psi spring still holds the boost we're using. Good thing I'm running blow through because I'll be suprised if this thing doesn't open up from vacuum at idle.
