Dang :( How dark is the front tint strip? Does it cover the entire windshield? What is the law for them?

I want a strip, but I do believe none is allowed for cars on the front w/s in MN, at least that was what I was told.
    Edit: here is a link to the stature;

Correct. No tint allowed on the front windshield anywhere. That aside I love my 5% windshield brow and couldn't live without it after now having it for the past couple years.

Went to dinner/bingo with a couple friends, and came out to a nasty old rust bucket of a bronco parked with our front tires less than a foot from each other and a nice ding right in the door handle. And I didn't win a bingo. FTL.

I would have certainly left him a little present of my own. I.E wad of chew on his windshield. I've done it before.

My first reflex was to leave a note, then I thought, why a note when I could deflate a wheel (not causing any permanent damage), and then finally I just left.

did clutch install the past few days waiting for parts and finding time with school and work, but finally mated the trans back to the block, bolted up everything up last night - attempted to start it up, but had a dead battery. Bought a new battery and still no start up.

Fixed my grounding mistake - still no start up until my mom comes and says maybe my battery connection is bad?! It was. Cleaned it up and hooked it up - started right up.

It is up and running again. YAY!! New clutch break in time.

In a few days - fixing the rusted out exhaust. LOUD!!!

Tuesday: attempted a tune w/ Bullwinkle, did a baseline run and found out the last owner didn't install the GS ebcs anywhere near correctly :censored::banghead:(it was operating at waste gate pressures)
Edit: the previous owner had removed the stock bcs and had just plugged in the Grimm Speed unit and left the 3rd port open WTF?

Wednesday: Fixed the ebcs (with help from Bullwinkle by way of a link to an install vid) drove it straight home like a criple with a limp, fortunately i live 5 min away from work and taken all back roads. (found out later Bullwinkle tossed a different map after the baseline run.)

Tonight I was able to squeeze in another attempt at a tune w/Bullwinkle, this time it went smoothly except my being taken off guard by the awesome power of a subie on the second pull. I accidentally let off the gas mid way through the pull. oops! but he said the run was salvageable. Thanks again Nate, it was truely an awesome experience!!!!

Found it's replacement (for the winter) adding +8 to my cylinder index:) which is still lacking. Odd how the 2.5 and 5.3 liter engines make the same power.

Swapped out transmission, rear diff and installed a new clutch on Saturday. Old 5MT was frozen so car was undriveable. Switched from a 2002 with 200k on it (3.90 final drive ratio) to a 2004 Legacy L trans with 40k (4.11 final drive ratio). Car received new exhaust gaskets as well. Whole process took about 10+ hrs with the help of MN Subaru memeber OCB. Car drives like it never has before and has a much smoother sound! I'm very happy with the outcome. That being said...

I have a 2002 5MT out of an Outback Limited. It has 200k on it and is frozen. I also have the matching rear diff. I would like to get rid of them but not for free. I'm not sure what to charge for the parts since someone could potentially buy the trans, crack it open and rebuild it. The rear diff is in good shape. What should I ask for the parts? $250???

    Thanks!

Fixed the intermittent starting issue. Flushed the cooling system, washed it for the fisrt time ever, wired in a kill switch, and drove the derp out of it. I might drive it to work tomorrow before i get ready to sell it.

    oh? have something in mind?

passed my inspection yesterday, took all of 10 minutes. yea for procrastination...

also determined my oil is leaking slightly from from lower camshaft pulley on the driver-side head. I'll have to pull the radiator again and do the timing belt. it's a shame, there's only 20k on it since new heads were put on. theres a bit oil on the bottom of the timing belt cover. i might leave it until spring before doing it.

Check the valve cover gasket on that side. They sometimes leak up behind the cam gear.

No set plans on the next project. Ive been kicking around a few ideas but need to do more research and set a budget...

Turbo 302 in something small and light
    S or m 50/52 in an e30

Took out the dash hood and both A pillar covers and put down a bunch of soft adhesive velcro in an attempt to eliminate some rattles. I was about 90 % successful.

:coffee:I guess I've got 8=25 but 1/3 of that is from the recent addition. Nowhere near AWDimprezaL but I drove mine for the first time in about a week......it's still noisy, stiff, and rattly but thats what so great about it.

Now that I've quieted down some of the dash stuff I need to focus on the doors. There are some great writeups on 3GWRX.com for places to start.

Which noises are you getting? To pull the A pillar covers you just need to take off the "SRS Airbag" logo (A small flathead will pop it off, a 10mm socket will take care of the bolt) and pull back gently and it'll come right out. I was getting popping and clicking noises and now they're mostly gone. I have a feeling it's going to be a fair amount of work to eliminate them all, but it's something I'm going to work towards.
