****, that 18g hardly fit. Not much room in that engine bay with the 2.5L.

Sat: oil changes, incl. tranny oil - my 5mt didn't seem to take a liking to the Amsoil 75w90 severe gear I was running, synchros weren't working quite as well as they should.

Then drove to Brainerd for fun and profit. But mostly fun.

Today: Drove back from brainerd, hit a couple happy fun roads on my work route on the way back, and finished it off with some happy fun gravel roads.

Just put in my Kartboy short shifter. I wasn't expecting it to be such a dramatic change, but wow! Shifting is a lot easier. I know, I need to get the bushings too...

Took the roof rails off yesterday. Looks great, but for some reason I didn't expect an '04 WRX headliner to be so different from an '02 TS -- from which I think the instructions were written. Turns out the sunroof gets in the way. DUH. So instead of removing the headliner entirely, I had to work around it to get to the mounting bolts. Lots of blind work. 7 hours total for what should have been 2-3. By the end I was exhausted and just wanted to get the roof mouldings on so I put the clips into the moulding before I put them on the car... which is a major no-no 'cause then you risk breaking a bunch of them by taking them out before installing them correctly, on the car first. :banghead:

But like I said, it looks great. ;) Just might need to get some extra clips and re-install the roof mouldings. 10-20 minutes tops.

Did some tuning with the new turbo, not quite finished yet, but making progress.

Did some sound proofing. Haven't had a chance to take the car out yet, but my even speakers sound a ****-ton better with this stuff on. Thanks Ted, your stuff is awesome!

    And then washed and waxed.

Finally installed my DIY pillarless grille that I've been working on in my spare time for a week or two. Flat black, looks great. Check it out in the "Member's Cars" section...

Got a cracked stock grille for free from a member on here, cut out the pillar, repaired the crack, sanded, bondo'd, sanded, primed, scuff sanded, and painted. 4 coats of black I think...

...and the best part is, I still have my stock grille intact so I can go back really quickly & easily if I want to. Might do that when the snow comes. ;)
