Put in the new gauge pod I got from Chong (Musashi)...I'll be ordering a gauge blank for the empty container for now. I plan on getting a wideband later on in my modding future...

Some JDM STi axleback hotness went on today. And some ADVAN RGs. And a ver.5 steering wheel.

The steering wheel gave me some headache cuz the airbag plugs aren't the same, but I figured it out eventually.

Axleback seems a little louder than I expected. Might keep, might not.

I drove to work today with my radio OFF so I could listen to the car. I normally have the radio or iPod playing all of the time and I don't listen to the car. I also sat in my drivers seat and wished I had time to Vaccuum and clean the interior.

and thats what I was talking about. I also secured my sub box a little better then the 2x4 that was wedged between it and the back/front of the trunk (by the opening)

p.s. carl I like the new steering wheel.

The opposite of carl, started adding weight to the car in the form of sound deadening. I pulled the front seats out, center console, pulled up the carpet, and went to work. I'm surprised to see Subaru put a bit of what I assume is deadening/heat barrier in the car already. It makes for a pretty good start in the areas that it's covered.

I have no clue how I'm going to work on the firewall. It seems to have a full rubber/foam mat attached over the entire face that needs to be removed to get to the metal and reattached when done. Getting that off might require a full dash removal unless it's not as extensive as it seems to be.

I'll be in the same boat soon. When I swap trannies it will probably be the best time to do some more dampening on my center console, tranny tunnel, firewall area.

Keep us updated how it goes for you.

It goes pretty easy so far. The car comes apart pretty easy. I think the challenge is in how much effort you want to put into the project. It's one of those things where you can always do more.

Some of the fun will be putting everything back together and seeing if things still fit. I'm going a little overkill on the whole project, basically a full layer of mat down, second layer where needed, still contemplating liquid deadener over that, and then a layer of foam. The process is inefficient for sound deadening though, and I'm partially doing it for thermal for the winter and summer months, so I'm doing more total coverage then what one would normally do. The liquid would normally go on any area not easily coverable by mat and generally suggested on the underside of the car, engine bay, fenders, etc. I kind of want to try it as a layer over the mat too, and some folks have done over and under mat (under requires complete drying prior). It's excess but fun (sort of), and I have a pile of stuff to go through: Damplifier, Overkill, and Spectrum.

I kinda want to foam my chassis too, but that is a project in of itself, one where I'd like a secondary car. That may be a fun project for a future car, a wonderful thing for both rigidity and sound deadening.

Changed the oil, inspected the complete underbody(found I need some bushings and a strut), fixed the exhaust, fixed the clock, went and found a tail light to put in it, cleaned more of it, figured out why my foglights do not work, found some burnt out bulbs, picked up a downpipe for when I do my stage 2 mods.

Replaced 3 out of 4 rubber brake line hoses with SS brakelines and installed a master brake cylinder brace. 1 hardline brake fitting is extremely uncooperative and is due to have it's nut cut off.

    Thanks Scuba Steve.

Today Andrew and Nick came over. The A/C system was removed from the car, the windshield washer resevoir was removed and the i/c sprayer was converted over for windshield washing duty. I also got all the tint off and am about 75% done getting the adhesive residue off. Oh yea, put the winter wheels and tires on lol
