Put on a rear strut bar. I live on a road that twist and turns a lot and i could tell the difference right away. IMAG0314.jpg IMAG0313.jpg

I decided to try Plasti Dipping my Forge BPV tonight. It turned out pretty good. It looks nice now, but I really don't think the Plasti Dip will hold up to much mounting/remounting or opening of the valve. If you just paint it, mount it once, and never touch it, I think it will look OK, but if you have to take it on and off, or open it often, I don't think it will last. Anyways, here are the photos...

Looks good. Can't wait to check it out Saturday. Are you doing your letters now that you have been exposed to Plasti Dip?

    Maybe...

I really didn't follow your instructions at all on this one. I'm amazed it didn't turn out like total crap.

Plasti Dip is a user friendly product. Besides the whole causes cancer and birth defects warning on the bottle. Best thing is if you screw up just peel and respray.

Reset all of my radio settings/clock! Got out to my car yesterday after work (of course when I was the last one in the lot) and when I tried to start the car- NOTHING. No lights, nothing left on, all has been fine otherwise... went to try and find some jumper cables from the custodians, and then about 10 minutes later I went back out, and there was nothing wrong. Started right up... I am thinking that its time for a little baking soda clean up on the terminals and see if getting rid of some corrosion helps...

I need to swap my battery for a new one today, and due to the configuration of my one-off FMIC plumbing I'll need to remove some of it in order to pull the battery.

The fun continues with the saabaru...

First, I owe a HUGE thanks to my buddy Rob that was the master behind fabricating the harness bar. We used the Sparco/ebay bar as a basic design, but made a few changes to suite my (tall) needs.

We/he custom fabbed the whole thing from scratch...a few differences between this and the off the shelf bar:
-tubing for the actual bar and the supports is larger
-I can keep the post for my stock belts in the high position (sparco requires the post to be lowered all the way)
-I can actually move my seat all the way back (wouldn't have been able to with the sparco)

Turned out pretty good, still need to paint it. Also, if anyone else is interested in having a bar built for their car and also needs harnesses...PM me.

Vacuumed out the inside of the car and decided to make some carpet inserts for the storage compartments in the doors. Made the template out of a bunch of aluminum foil. Tried a piece of paper and a brown paper bag first. But the bag was too thick and the paper kept ripping apart. Only took a few sheets of aluminum foil to get the template right. Then took the template to a cheap black rug I got from Menards, the kind you would put by a door. Traced the template with a marker and cut it out with a pair of scissors. The fit ended up being just about perfect. I actually got the idea from seeing the carpet inserts in a buddies GTI.

    well, this was yesterday,
new steering rack, white-line rack bushings, new tie rod ends, and I rebuilt my power steering pump.
I thought that I had some ATF in the garage, but didn't, (couldn't drive it firestone)
so I'll fill it up today and take it for a spin.

Headlight relay mod, and new sparkplugs...was gonna do a compression test, but the kit/tool I got was obviously meant for cars with more accessible spark plug holes.
Headlight mod was money and time well spent...
