I tried to do the responsible thing and get a good night's sleep... more than 4 hours. But all I can do is think about the fact that it's possible that I have it on backwards and I risk scraping the crap out of my new exhaust tomorrow. So i jacked it back up and swapped the resonator to the front. I'm pretty sure I have it correctly mounted now. The invidia sticker is pointing towards the ground and nothing seems to be hitting. I think we should swap Lor's too.

Interesting that the midpipe can be installed 4 different ways. I never even though of that. I just bolted it on and never though of it again. Does it look like there is more clearance with the flex joint in the back? Or is there still a chance it's going to rub?

No, I don't think it is going to rub. I tried to move it around as much as possible. It is 100% clear on the sides, I couldn't make it hit the underbody. The only thing I was able to make it hit was the bottom of the car to the top of the exhaust. I had to put some muscle into it... it didn't want to hit. With that being said, you would really have to slam your exhaust/car on something to make this happen. I don't see it happening with normal DD or Track use. I didn't hear any noises this morning on the way into work. I sat in traffic and was able to get on it a little. This is a vast improvement from yesterday. As well the exhaust seems to hang closer to the car, not making it the lowest point.

So there is more clearance above the flex joint in this configuration (vs. when you had the flex joint towards the front of the car)?

The clearance is about the same. The difference is that there was a bolt on the side of the under body. So when the exhaust would swing from left to right it would hit the head of the bolt. That bolt would tear apart the flex pipe if I would have left it as is. Now that I swapped the resonator to the front, I no longer have that issue. I am pretty certain this is the correct way to have the mid-pipe. It just looks like a better fit.

Really? I ordered them last week on Monday, and they arrived 2 days later on Wednesday. Perhaps some sizes are backordered....

I e-mailed Invidia about how it is supposed to be installed and this was their response:

I guess I had it right! I think the way I installed it provides the most clearance between the exhaust and the car/heat shields. Unfortunately it also reduces ground clearance. Kind of a dumb design. Seems like it should just be straight. I would say that if it's not banging on anything the way you have it now, just leave it.

Woo hoo! I'm not a noob! ....or am I?

Nice work with the email. Yeah, I am going to leave it as is. I feel it is tucked under the car better. Otherwise the flex pipe is the lowest part of the car. Flex pipe is also the weakest part of the exhaust. IDK, maybe I will switch it again..... We'll see

I have ripped flex pipe before... then I am out a few hundred dollars. Damn... I am torn

Getting the headlights wrapped up, still need to install the wiring on the car though.

Go ahead and call me rice.

There were supposed to be proper CCFL rings for eyes, but the damn things snapped trying to seat them inside the shrouds (and what pisses me off is that I was super careful and got them in perfectly, only to have them each snap like a minute later when the shroud was just sitting there). So I threw the cheesy LED strip they threw in for free in the shroud for now. Put them in backwards so they weren't so atrociously bright, and as a bonus they help bring out the demon eye mod (red painted parts behind the lens).

To anyone who's considering an HID retrofit - baking the housings open is a piece of cake. Shroud fitment sucks on the RS housings, pretty much any shroud will need some modification to fit, but on the other hand cutting and painting etc isn't too bad just a little time consuming. The Retrofit Source made this a very easy job to tackle.

Drove it to watch rally autocross in dirt/mud yesterday

Wanted to drive mine in it too but didn't register, so I found myself some mud/dirt/gravel roads and went for it.

I'll will get it more dirty and will not wash it after the Subaru cruise(Hopefully I'll be the only one with an dirty 05 lgt there)

Getting lazy now, use to wash it once a week.

If you see an dirty black 05 lgt with mud/dirt all over, it's probably me!

    Finally, officially "Stage II".
Cobb catted down pipe (thanks xluben) ceramic coated by Grimmspeed
    Fast Motorsports catback
    AEM intake
    Grimmspeed EBC
    Tune by DB Performance
Why is it when the dyno numbers are scrolling by, the question flashes across the mind, " I wonder what injectors and a fuel pump would do?" ?

Yep, I was a lazy a$$. I was planning on putting stock on last year for the winter and didn't want to mess with the tune last fall. After the installation, the stock parts won't go back on until I go STI ;).
I didn't look too close at the numbers yet, I needed to get to work... I think I gained a few hp's and a few torques, but the big gain was turbo spool. I'm getting into the power band much quicker. big bonus for autocross.

Got the headlights sealed up and reinstalled. The LED's sucked, I didn't even hook them up.

I can't decide if they would look better with a fully blacked out housing and a silver/chrome shroud or like this with stock reflector still silver and the gray shroud... Also not sure if I still want to try the angel eye or not, now that the projectors are in and on the car, I feel like they might just sort of look out of place...

Still need amber corners, too. Anyone got a set wanna trade for black Depo corners?

Remember to grab some bondo/filler too. Those deep scratches are going to need some filler to smooth them out!
