Started to install my new parts. Got a moshimoto radiator, moshimoto radiator hoses, moshimoto intake hoses, and hella horns. Still waiting on my Perrin inlet pipe to put it all back together.
Also got the ks-tech Tgv delete plates which I just installed today. Previous owner decided to try and block off the tgv's with bondo. Very bad idea!

Drove to Ramsey, added a new (to us) WRX to the family. My little sister (27 years) now has a new ride.

We picked it up, swapped in new brake pads.... and drove around for 3+ hours.

I was pretty stoked when she parked at the back of the parking lot when we picked up distilled water to mix with the coolant to top off the overflow reservoir. She said now I have a car where I have to worry about door dings and parking at the back of the lot.... I couldn't have been happier!

She's dropping it off at my house this weekend....
    I need to:
    Change the differential
    New spark plugs
    New fuel filter
a fresh coat of wax .... because I am nice like that....

Maybe I'll even let Nuke infect it.

Ben is right...it has already been infected by the N1F1 D-money!;) Tell your sister that she should wear a Tyvek suit when she drives it.

Oh she did. I think all the years of riding quads and dirt bikes paid off. It took her about 5 minutes of neighborhood driving to graduate to the high speed life of Ramsey Blvd. She drove it from around 7pm till 10pm with me in the passenger seat. She didn't burn the clutch at all, she didn't ride the clutch, she didn't even grind a gear. I was very clear about the safe RPMs for 1st gear. She only killed it a few times in 3+ hours of driving. She did way way way better than I thought she would.... but I guess she understands the concept from riding quads. She even started to get into higher boost by the end of the night. I was planning on helping her after work today.... but her driving was great by the end of the night last night... so she is on her own. :D

I'd be very interested in checking this out when you do those. I have no idea how to change a diff and I've never attempted plugs on a flat anything. Any chance you'd be willing to let me get in your way?

Sure man. Doing the differential is SUPER easy (as long as you can get the bolts undone). I have only done the plugs on my own car, the Bugeye looks like it has a ton of crap in the way... mine was a lot easier to do. The air pump was really the only pain in the ARSE when doing my WRX. However, Ben and Nuke finally got their way... my air pump never went back into the car. Ben has been on me to remove mine since he took his out. I would have put it back in, but it wasn't worth the stress of that stupid hose clamp under the engine. I am guessing your plugs will be similar to my car with access. The fuel filter is way easier to access on the bugeye vs our cars as well. Her's in in the engine bay, ours is in the fuel pump housing in the gas tank. I do have a new fuel filter for my WRX as well... so if we get through everything fast maybe we'll pull my fuel pump too and change the filter. I am more than happy to open up my garage to people. I plan on working on the car on Sunday. Are you around on Sunday? The wife is flying home to STL, so really my whole weekend is pretty open and unscheduled. My only "must do" is paint the baby room. So if Saturday or Monday works better we can swing that.

Monday or Saturday would be best for me. I have some things I'm supposed to attend on Sunday, but I'd much rather do this instead if it comes down to it. I can make anything work, just stoked for a chance to check it out without people getting pissed at me for slowing them down. ;)

Yeah, but I have swapped from Pump Gas to E85 a few times... I figured it wouldn't hurt. Turns out I was thinking about the screen on the fuel pump assembly, it was sort of dirty last time I pulled my fuel pump. I was going to get that part and replaced it. It is a filter for the fuel prior to the fuel pump, figured it was the "fuel filter" .... nope ... it's a "fuel screen" used to filter the fuel going to the fuel filter. :banghead: Anyways, I paid for the part I ordered, decided against buying the "fuel screen" .... so I am going to put it in my car.... at some point. It has been sitting in the garage for like a month now.

    ......

I think I'll wait till after BIR next weekend before I do it. No need to mess up my fuel setup before the track. I can mess it up after my track day. Sorry Pete, no fuel filter on my car this weekend. But you can come over when I do it after June 2nd.

Ordered a bunch of fun stuff to get started! 100 miles in and I already HAD to spend money on it. :)

    - Pioneer 4400bh HU and Axxess unit to keep steering wheel controls.
    - 4 Kicker KS65 door speakers.
    - 4 channel amp and all necessary wires to install said speakers with way too much power.
    - Nameless Axleback Exhaust (went with 3.5", staggered-single wall tips, with 5" mufflers.)
    - RallyArmor flaps
    - Grimmspeed license plate bracket (for no-drill mounting down by the fog light)

I guess while I wait for the parts I should think about cleaning the car...

Installed my Grimmspeed Uppipe, Invidia Down Pipe, STi Top mount, Grimmspeed Master Brake Cylinder brace, New Foglights, and New headlight (to replace the discolored one left over from a Deer accident). It was a nice start for my night! Now for this evening's entertainment: SS Brake lines, Test fit the summer rims (17x9's), and Rally armor mudflaps.

Make sure to get a flare wrench for those brake lines!

I went back to the SPT exhaust today. Love it! Subtle but just loud enough. And I think looks great!
