Installed a new o2 sensor! Suprisingly it was a lot easier than I expected. The hardest part was taking the wheel off and fishing the wire back up through the engine bay lol.

Drove it this evening for the first time in over a month! Water pump on the winter car may be shot.

Today started out with the plan to change the oil and the steering fluid. I ended up having to replace the passenger front half shaft, after finding a torn inner CV boot. I normally wouldn't have just swapped the shaft, but since I couldn't put my hands on a boot kit today, I went for the full swap: Too much going on and too much driving coming up in the next two weeks.

A few days ago I swapped out my tan carpet for some black carpet from an STI. Then yesterday and today I added an amp for my front speakers.

On a side note: Does anyone know how to get the car side of the door grommet back into place? There is a white ring that snaps into the frame, and the grommet appears to go around that to create a seal. I can't get it back on for the life of me. Any help would be greatly appreciated before water starts getting in. Thanks!

Sorry for the bad cell phone pics!

Changed out my fuel filter today.

Changed oil for my first time on Friday as well. Went from Mobil 1 to T6, hoping I won't have to add an extra quart over the next 3000 miles.

Bought numerous spherical bearings attached to metal things. Needless to say I am stoked. I SOOOO miss a precise car. I've owned this thing for a year, and there isn't a day I'm not annoyed by the steering and lack of feel that should be there. Hopefully everything arrives this week, and I finally turn my car into a surgical tool.

Replaced a few overly bright LED lights in my dash that were installed by the previous owner. (Thanks to tangledupinblu for the hook up on the bulbs). And replaced the stock muffler with a Magnaflow muffler, (thanks to Bryan621 for the hook up on the muffler). My car now has a nice quiet rumble to it.

Modified and installed an 06 STi exhaust on my 94 legacy turbo. The stock exhaust was way too quiet. I picked up the catback from Eterenity, thanks again! It was the perfect exhaust for this car. No too loud lots of Subaru grumble! Pics...

What's the best way to de-badge my old trunklid, and what's the best adhesive to reattach it to this one?

Excessive requirements to slip in a number of scenarios. Chatter. The usual.

It's a lot more fun during playtime, but that represents a very low percentage of my time behind the wheel.

Lightweight flywheel here as well, yes it chatters but the that's it.

Throttle response is better than with the heavy dual mass flywheel(that thing was heavy, maybe 30lbs)

I didn't have "issues" per se. If I were building a project car I wouldn't think twice about putting in another LWFW.

I don't mean to put anyone off... unless they spend a lot of time in stop and go traffic. It was more fun overall but not a great match for my DD needs and driving style. NVH wasn't that crazy. Then again, anyone who has heard me cold start my car realizes it takes A LOT of NVH to be a big deal.

I think this looks great as is. Keep it de-badged!

If you want to de-badge your other trunk though, fishing line and applying heat will loosen the adhesive enough for you too peel it right off. I'm not sure what adhesive to use for re-attaching though.

Suby no longer needs to be daily driven, if it did I would have gone with an 07 wrx single mass instead of the featherweight. I can beat the probe in traffic, and take the scoob for fun.

Finally got around to cleaning and waxing my stock summer rims. What a long tiring process that was lol.
I still need to do the winter rims but I think the wife will kill me if I clean another set of rims in her tub.

I cleaned and waxed my extra rims as well, and got some lightly used Continental DWS's mounted on em today. Thanks to Damon for the deal on the tires. Went from a 215/45/17 in stock (+55?) offset to a 225/45/17 with I believe is a +48 offset. I like the subtle change it added in looks. Haven't driven with em enough to notice a handling change yet.

^Really like those wheels krazymule, I think they'd look even better on a silver car like mine...

It is growing on me, but I think I would have to get the trunk lock shaved.

    It just looks unbalanced.

I'm back up in Duluth now, so I had it washed and waxed today after the drive up 52/I35 and drove out to Hawk Ridge and took a few pictures.

There was another Subaru up there at the time:

Thanks, I think they would look best on the dark/charcoal grey colored cars. And I know what ya mean about the trunk lock. I de-badged my trunk, but the Subaru emblem on my car has holes under it, so it would need to be shaved and repainted. Still looks better without having all the chrome emblems. I hate chrome.

bought some rubber floor mats to replace my shriveled carpet ones and picked up some aero clips for the roof rack. tomorrow i'll be inspecting the brakes, since the front driver side is squealing and clicking a little (think brake pad wear tab)

Last night was a good night. Xluben and I worked on both of our cars for about 6 hours. Besides some broken knuckles and lips, everything went well. I will let Ben talk about what we did with his car... in my car we swapped out all of my shifter bushings. I picked up a TiC Holy Shift Kit Wide (06+). I need more seat time, it was 1:30am when I was driving home and HWY most of the way... so I didn't do too much testing with the new bushings... however, everything felt very precise. More to come in the next few days.

It really helped that Ben has done this a few times. We got everything out pretty easily. I think the slowest part was getting the double pin out... we didn't have the right size punch. We ended up taking off the tranny mount to get a better line on the pins... with it on the car we had to come at an angle. Once that was off it was a lot easier to pop out both pins. The rest of the process went pretty smooth. Next time we do this and it is negative outside I am bringing my heater so we can run 2 at the same time.... it was fine to work it... but it wasn't warm.

Per TIC you're supposed to remove the whole tranny brace, I was just trying to save time. The double pin was quite a pain to get out. We put it back together with the bolt facing the other way, so now it's possible to remove the joint without punching out the pin. I don't know why Subaru does it that way in the first place.

I would post about what I've done recently, but it wasn't "today", so it doesn't apply to this thread.

Technically we were still working @ 1am. So it is "today" in that sense.

However.... I define a new day by the following.

    1. Sun comes up
    2. Fall Asleep / Pass Out

So by those standards it is a new day.
