Look at all that extra weight!
I would like to do this to mine to make it a little quieter, but look at all that extra weight. :)
Looks good. Provide an update on the change in noise levels.

Not that much weight, i Got the superlight stuff so it's not that heavy.

Doesn't seem to do much on throttle, but it has definitely quieted down some reverb and buzz on idle.

Better rest well and get ready to run in the spring

    Winter to-do list:
-install adjustable rear lower control arms
-remove front control arms and get new bushings pressed in
-remove downpipe and have wideband sensor bung relocated
-install racing seat, harnesses, and harness bar

Went to see if it was better to pump the brakes on ice or let abs do its thing. Pumping stopped sooner without hitting the cones most the time. Abs took twice as long to come to a stop and hit the cones all the time.

Installed my front StopTech pads, and found that the front driver's side caliper may not be doing too hot... very uneven wear, which led to the squealing from the warning tab... now the search is on for a replacement. Wish the funds were there to upgrade to a brembo set... hopefully got it all worked out though. Also thought about trying for the gauge pod but was not feeling that ambitious today.

Changed out the idler pulley on the A/C tensioner. Damn thing was whining like crazy.

Got home and noticed a little steam coming from the front end. Couldn't find any wet spots anywhere. Seriously hoping this damn radiator isn't leaking somewhere out of view.

The waterpump bearing had been seizing making my FXT grind, squeal, and die at idle. Fuji_K so open heartedly forced me to work on it last night in my cold garage but he has unique tastes for heat and music. :D $400 in parts later, the car drives like a champ again.

Chasing down an intermittent fuel leak under the intake manifold... pretty sure I've found it and will replace the soft line tonight if I can get at it. Hoping I don't have to pull the intake mani...

Recall 02-03 wrx for sure. Get ahold of the dealer it may be for your still as well as that's the same coupler they replace on the recall on the 02-03

My car was not part of recall... I did a temp fix to hold me for a couple weeks when I'll do t-belt, water and oil pumps, and pull intake to replace all 3 soft lines.

Nice! I have the same setup. What year 6 speed did you end up with? And what clutch did you decide on?
I now have my 07 6 speed, r180, dss rear axles, and Fx400 6 puck clutch installed and I absolutely love it.
Been meaning to write a review of the clutch because it is that awesome but too busy.
Hope you are happy with your setup!

I found an 04 with 60k on it. I have the same clutch as you. I am just waiting on the mapdccd to show up so I can wire it up and install the transmission. Good to hear you like the clutch, that was the hardest decision for me to make.

Oh nice, I have the dccdpro but am thinking of selling it for a mapdccd. I should have done more research before buying it.
The clutch chatters a bit at first but smooths out after a little bit. The pedal feel is seriously softer than stock though and I got the HD pressure plate. Clutchmasters did some magic.

Seconded on clutchmasters imbuing their products with witchcraft. I have an FX350 with about 15k'ish on it after frying a couple HDSS's. The difference in pedal feel is almost insulting. If it CAN be that close to stock and still function, wtf is everyone else doing, especially ACT?? That's assuming it holds up though. I seriously baby the transmission now so it will be hard for me to paint an accurate picture of how much abuse it can take.

Haha, my father-in-law was laughing at me and my incredulity regarding the pedal feel of my FX300 when I drove my car for the first time. He was like. "You re-build the entire engine and THAT's what you're going on about?" :D

I will not be babying my tranny so I will let you know how much abuse it can take. That was my only concern as well but it certainly can hold the torque!
The mechanical engineer in me wants to know exactly what they do to make the pressure plate so good but I didn't really look too hard at it before the install.
The best way I can describe the feeling of the clutch pedal is it is almost like a compound bow in archery. When you have the pedal down to the floor it takes no effort but when you release it, it springs up with a increasing force somehow.
