$1505.22 to Morrie's Minnetonka Subaru for a whole laundry list of maintenance. $1000 was in Subaru Bucks. Thank you Subaru and Chase.

I was told that Chase is no longer offering the Subaru-branded Mastercards (I wanted to get an application for a coworker). I hope to hell that does not mean the end of this wonderful program is near.

I asked to have Driftin-240 do the work on my car as I was very happy when he performed the $2400 repair to our Outback a few years ago. Thanks for the great service. Morrie's rocks!

Got backed into sitting at an intersection by the guy in front of me when he decided to back up without looking after he slightly overshot the intersection. Now have a trailer hitch sized hole in the front bumper of the LGT. Time to find a good body shop and call the insurance company.

That makes for a rough day... Morries Bodyworks did some great work for me and had a quick turn around time.
Washed this morning IMG_1816.JPG which inevitably led to an hour later... IMG_1818.JPG

Yeah, it happened on top of an already crappy day. It's really just the bumper that needs to be replaced but it's still a hassle. I'm thinking of taking it to Raymond Auto Body, seems to be nothing but good reviews on here and other places online. I definitely want a genuine Subaru bumper cover, not a Certi-Fit (sorta-fit) generic.

Picked up some new carpet floor mats, replaced burned out fog lights with Nokya Arctic Yellows (same i've had in for 2+ years), and just for fun threw some Sylvania SilverStar back-up bulbs in, and made a noticeable difference. Removed the roof rack as well to hopefully replace the footpads and clean it up a little (maybe paint or Plasti-Dip). All in all, about a +10HP gain.

Installed the Grimmspeed hood lift kit, really nice design - such a small thing, but for some reason it feels satisfying to use :) the extra opening clearance is nice too.

Also installed the TiC shift pivot kit. Those 4 white plastic clips are a pain in the butt! And holy crap there's a lot of talc on that rubber under-boot. BTW, anyone got a pic showing how that under-boot for an EJ20 is supposed to look when installed?

Worked on the girlfriends car, not a Subaru but a pos Dodge stratus. Front brake pads and rotors were first. Took about 10 min of nailing the rotors with a bfh to get each one off. Not a big enough bfh I guess. Went smoothly after that at least. Took it for a test drive and all was well.... Until the battery light came on. Seriously? Okay, guess it needs an alternator now. Aaand of course, it's in the back of the motor and down low. Actually was easier than I thought. No more dash lights or brake scrape! Good times, great oldies.

The last couple of days I replaced my stock struts (150k miles on them) with some KYB AGXs I got when I bought the car. I put in a WRX RSB and installed front and rear strut bars. Now my suspension is tight as f***

Drove to it work for business casual Friday and then parked it next to a nice miata that seems to have been maybe relegated to being a DD. Looks like fun Derek.

Front and rear brake pads went in today. Surprises me that both front and back had virtually the same exact amount of friction material remaining (yes, I know they don't start out the same thickness) at 58,4xx miles. Used OEM pads as I don't track the car and as much as they are criticized, I find them acceptable...and I have yet to meet an OE part that fails on fit or performance.

Yesterday my car started misfiring really bad while heading down Grand Ave and threw a flashing CEL. Left it in a parking lot near Lexington overnight; this morning I went back to plug in my Accessport which reported a P0303, and sure enough the cylinder 3 coil pack had popped off. Man it was a pain to get it bolted in, access is tight! It got some loctite so I hopefully won't have to do that operation again for a while!

Put these bad boys in today. Alpine Type R's, apparently they don't make these anymore. They have excellent sound quality. I happened to pick up the floor models from a best buy a few years back right as they were discontinued. Glued and screwed to the spacers.
