Got a CEL, plugged in and got the P0031. I guess summer project #1 just became a new 02 sensor...

Not sure if you are being cheeky, but @EricS posted the pic of the Grimmspeed AOS. @TMF was talking to @ryjacobs.

And just to confuse things further, it's a 'GS-style' AOS aka an eBay copy. I feel bad because I love @GrimmSpeed and always want to support them, but my toy-money fund was pretty much drained after doing the Stage 2 work with Nuke, yet I wanted to get some sort of AOS on the car sooner rather than later. I'm hoping that once I get a bit more cash I can sell the eBay faker and put the real deal in its place, should be easy now since the hoses are ready to plug and play.

Its pretty well documented that a good chunk of their components are "rebranded."

As in other companies copy GS products, or other companies make the parts and GS brands/sells them?

If you want an AOS that actually works, get the Crawford (or maybe the Perrin's...but it sounds like that one has issues). If you do any aggressive driving with Grimmspeed (esp. autox), it becomes useless. Grimmspeed told me themselves that it is not recommended for autox.

But assuming that you're still on the stock motor and not tooling around town like a maniac...you probably don't need an AOS or catch can.

Oh yeah, forgot to say that I spent like 3 friggin hours struggling to get the Oetiker (or are they CLIC?) clamps back on the factory PCV hoses, since I didn't have a pair of dikes that would work - must have lost them in the move : ( That was a painful experience (literally, got some good scratches). Felt like this guy: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2525238

Saturday my buddy and I installed Brembos, new rotors, new pads and flushed the lines on my WRX. Super easy conversion, the 08 STi calipers bolted right up.

The FXT threw a P0340 code while working Headwaters Rally on Saturday. On Monday I changed out the cam position sensor on the passenger side. It's a PITA to get at, and hard to get a wrench on it.

    IMO perfect fit (no rub)
    wheesls: 18x8.5" +35 offset
Pirelli tires 245/40/18 (look big and wider than stock (dunlop) tires which are also 245/40/18, don't know why)

Cool, I wouldn't have guessed from the pic that they were 18's, the tires look nice and meaty
I've heard that tires from various manufacturers having the same size/aspect ratio will often look different because the profile of the tire will vary, the size/aspect ratio only measures a few parameters of the tire - the actual profile will vary, even between tire models from the same company.

Yea, did some research last night and that's what I heard too. Some tires run a little bigger than others even though they are the same size.

I was replacing the struts on the BP outback,
When I found a lot of play in a ball joint.
Great, it's midnight, I need a new ball joint.
Wait, I have a new set for the BK/BD, and look,
the part numbers are the same!
    Great stuff.

also: homemade balljoint tool worked great!

Clayed and waxed my Forester. It was pretty overdue, should have done it when I bought it. Didn't have time to buff/polish it but hopefully I can find some time next weekend.

My gf got me the grimmspeed license plate relocation kit because some parking meter maid has a hard on for giving me tickets.
    image.jpg

I popped the tow hook cover off and there was foam blocking it...
Apparently the foam insert for the bumper was put in backwards so the cutout didn't line up with the hole.
I ended up having to take the stupid bumper off. It was even more of a pain in the ass because I have the lightbar attached to the bumper.
I was expecting a 5 min install and it turned into a couple beers and over an hour. I got it done and I like it!

Not yet, only two or three on the passenger side are creaking when I torque them, I inspected all of them and they look fine. I may replace the noisy ones when I bleed my brakes.

image.jpg Installed the turn in concepts shifter pivot bushings and it made a HUGE improvement.

Ever since I got the BMW the shifter in the subaru had been unacceptable.
I installed the front and rear kartboy shifter bushings a while ago and I noticed almost nothing. It made shifting a bit more precise front to back but I still had a ton of slop side to side when the shifter was in gear (like over an inch).
I didn't think these bushings would do anything from the reviews online but I feel a night and day difference. It used to be hard to shift into 1st all the time (it almost felt like it was getting jammed in the gate) but now it is very positive and goes right into gear.
I still have a little but of side to side play but I also bought the TiC trunion bushings that haven't put them in yet. I have read that this is the biggest source of side to side slack in the shifter so hopefully with those it is even better!

Were your stock ones worn out? I did the pivot bushings before and felt no difference. The stock bushings seemed like pretty much the same thing.

The front and rear bushings on the other hand made a huge difference. Hard plastic vs. soft rubber. Big change in feel.

My stock pivot bushings were pretty worn but so was my rear bushing that the kartboy replaced. What you experienced was basically what I expected but to my surprise it was a huge improvement.
I think my pivot bushing was so worn that I couldn't appreciate the kartboy bushings until it was replaced.
The stock pivot bushing was quite hard like the TiC replacement but installing the new one was a pain because it was so tight. The stock one basically fell out when I unbolted it.

Finaly got around to applying my MnSubaru stickers. Took longer than i thought because some of the letters and stars would stay on the backing paper. Once i got them to stick, they had paper stuck to the sticky side of the vinal, so I had to use the scissor edge to lightly scrape it off. Looks great though!

Thirteen hours in the garage today detailing (just) the exterior. Wash, dry, clay, polish with Griot's Machine Polish 3 (and my new random orbit polisher - first time I have polished and good lord does that create a bunch of polishing dust), Griot's Pre-Wax Cleanser, Xpel Protection Film Sealant, and finally Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. Eff me...I am beat. My next car is going to be a used "appliance" that gets the most basic of mechanical care.
