What did you do to your subaru today?

I'm almost done putting my 2pot RS front brakes on. My old Hawk HPS pads had separated, the pad material had split away from the backing plate, fun... guess I'm not ordering another set of those... Also, Powerslot rotors don't have those threaded holes for using a gear puller to get them off the hub when they're rusted on. I had to go get a massive 3 jaw puller to get the rotors off.

Time to go bleed the brakes and take it for a test drive.

 

scuba and I (mainly scuba) put RCE yellows on all 4 corners and regreased my rear struts

 

Took the boot & knob off an 02 sedan center console and glued the boot to the underside of my center console from the auto. Worked out pretty good.


Also, put the 5-zigen's on! Sexy time - plus they are considerably lighter than the stockers.

And it's SOOOO much quieter. Just the boot alone does wonders for killing noise.

Also, the majority of my clunking has simply gone away. Must've been front end links or something clunking that gradually settled back into non-clunking form. (Sounds crazy, but I've read a lot lately about suspension clunking! )


Tires rub though. They're 225/50 on 17"s and I think they're hitting the spring perch on the strut. Was really bad yesterday w/ 4 ppl in the car (how often does that happen!), but was still doing it some today with just me and the GF.

Guess I need to spring for some 225/40 S-Drives sooner than I thought. Too bad that one dude's 225/45's were a little too chewed up for my tastes.

I am jealous I never jumped on them earlier... I think I will be looking for a set of htose for my winter setup instead of the 19's...

 

In light of the questionable forecast over the next few days, I slapped the old FXT wheels with Dunlop Wintersport M3 snow tires on the Outback. Now I just need to go find a gas station to air up a little, pressure dropped a little while they were sitting in my garage over the summer.

I was gonna have me some fun in a parking lot last night around 2am, but at the last second I changed my mind. That was a good decision cuz after I drove past this lot a cop stopped next to it. That may have been bad.

 

^^ funny. Right before I went to bed last night (round 1am) I noticed there was snow cover on the roads and was about to go drive for some fun. Then I remembered that I'd had a couple that night and then a cop drove by. Pretty much killed that idea!

 

I'll be putting on some RA mud flaps after I go get them from the minnetonka boys.

 

i had fun whippin some ****ties myself at the southdale parking ramp. twas mucho fun last night. ahh yes first ones of the season are always the best ones to cherish


i also got mad at her because she wouldnt let go of that god damn wheel hub knuckle!
and that she wasnt fast enough. but none the less i still love her

i did some drifts with Tim his girlfriend and quiet kid in my car last night on the top of mound's parking garage

 

my brother and i finished my pillarless grill last night. not good with bondo so didn't come out right. might redo it in the spring. also went cruising around with my lil bro's gc. hehe...he couldn't even catch up. lol.
