You could do this if you can get your hands on some rare cardboard fiber.

My Killer B v3 headers will arrive Wednesday. Also ordered ti wrap, gaskets, Crawford AOS and a GS ECBS. Those will arrive shortly after the headers. Plan to have NF install them by early November :)

Think it'd be worth throwing a clamp on the compressor nipple there @Sjogun? Wouldn't want that line popping off, could make for a bad day :) You should cut off the 'S' from one of your spare 'STI' badges and turn your trunk badge into an 'RSTI' :D

Yeah, I have about a million zip ties laying around, so I guess it would be a bad idea to throw one on there. Some guy on rs25 makes badges, he wants 50$ a piece though, I'll probably have my brother 3D print one for me sometime.

Replaced my plugs with NGK Iridiums, but before that did a compression test which turned into a whole ordeal. New wipers and a hand wash as well.

Decent #'s for a cold motor. All were 120 except #2 i think was 125.

Cleaned air filter, MAF sensor, changed oil, changed out the end link bushings/hardware and installed the new spacers i made to replace the washers i was using. Noticed some yellow sludge in the oil cap, must have a had some short trips or maybe it happened at the track on Sunday…..?

Also noticed a lot of what look like metal chips in the used oil…… almost crapped my pants but after i looked closer it was just dirt and sand. It was sitting for awhile before i poured it into a jug. It's been pretty windy lately.

    Spacers look much better!

With regard to the yellow sludge, when was the last time you checked under the oil cap? Go on short drives much? Looks like that is from the engine not getting up to temp on short drives to burn up condensation, and results in the sludge.

Somedays I drive straight to work and only live 3 minutes away lol but I try to take a longer way. My shop will move to a new building in Januaray. So like 15 minutes away :)

I check my oil level all the time but I will check the oil cap more often.

    Should I be worried?

I know there's something called yellow foam but that's water in your oil. It's definetly a sludge or paste under my cap.

From the quick 2 minutes of research that I did on the web, and the fact that you drive 3 minutes and then shut down, I would say it is due to the short drives and not burning off the condensation. In the future, I would let your car warm up for an extra couple minutes and take a little longer route to work...the 15 mn drive should be fine. Either that or take it for a nice long drive a couple times a week.

Should you be worried? I'm not the expert here, so I can't say. I will say to just adjust the driving patterns and monitor the oil cap.

I should take decibel readings between the stock and Killer B headers.

Wednesday I switched my interior and trunk lights to LEDs. Not a huge fan of the coloring, but I do like the extra light in those areas.

Unfortunately, i over payed for it as damn near everything is garbage on it. Right now i'm dealing with an AC compressor clutch that looks like the car is on fire when it's running. :banghead:

It is in fact Aspen White. Early model 2002(same as Blu).

So if someone feels like wrenching today, i'm going to rip this compressor out and replace it with the one off of the blue car. Anyone? Bueller...? Lol

You should dump off all the garbage parts on the lawn of the person you bought it from, for cathartic release :)

Sorry bud, today's out for me :)

Edit - removed unintentionally snarky-sounding comment.

Installed a DIY grounding block today and ran additional grounds to the throttle body, alternator, and manifold. Definitely smoothed out the idle a bit and in-gear decel seems much smoother as well. It was an easy project and definitely worth the 20min and 15 bucks it cost me

*edit* Also wanted to add (for anyone thinking about doing this) that it's important to grind off the paint in the additional surface area behind that grounding block and use some electrical grease on the contact patch to avoid corrosion. The carbon fiber film you see around the grounding block is simply a mask to hide the excess paint I removed directly around the terminal.

I started fixing my rust issue. The new LCA'S are in and the car got an alignment. The sub frame was removed awaiting the new one.

I've had an AP v3 for quite some time now, used it as a boost gauge till got a real gauge installed and then it was only used to load maps.

Mounted it back into the car last week and i'm now monitoring DAM, Feedback Knock and Knock Learning, which i also data log on 3rd/4th WOT pulls to make sure i have all my ducks in a row. At most i see -1.4 of timing pulled, wonder if this is phantom knock but i've seen data logs on IWSTI with -10, that has to be bad?

More than likely phantom knock, unless it is pulling -1.4 on every pull. It should still "learn" it away. You can always consult your tuner as well.

Looks like the additive(s) (gear oils are very basic) are separating out of the oil. That's what our gear oil looks like while the additives are still mixing in.

WOT is 0. I get the -1.4 on very low loads (30mph) driving around town and using cruise control on the highway (70mph).

It does learn it, which is nice :)

Edit: I believe I still have a little fuel stumble as the knock is present between 2,500-3,000 rpms.
