Yeah, my STi is lowered just a bit on springs, so I really don't want to drive it in the winter/plowing snow (also, because: SALT)...that's why I have the OBS for my winter beater!

Last year I stored it without a cover and it was filthy with dust and smoke residue by spring time. Also random scratches from idiot people/dogs brushing up against it or what have you while she sits all winter (my garage tends to be a place to hang out). I picked up this cover, used, for $60. It's made for the STi and even has the pocket in the rear to fit the wing...but I am wingless ha! I cannot remember the brand, but they retail around $200 new. The cover fits like a glove and should help protect the Subaru's delicate clear coat and keep the dust off at the very least. Sure is ugly though...

Nope, this one's a 2000. The hood is wet from pulling into the heated garage after it snowed, but does have a little clear pealing up on it here and there. Ultimate winter beater...just wish it was a 5mt

I washed it. Signed up with unlimited washes from holiday for the winter. I hate where they placed the sticker though. Hopefully that's just because it's new and I'm noticing it. If it still bugs me in a few days I'm going to request a replacement.

Sticker is on the lower corner of the windshield pretty much right over the subaru glass info. I think I would have preferred it up in the top corner.... I'm assuming it's just because the sticker is new that it bugs me. We'll see...

Changed the oil, filter, and air filter. Going for the karboy bushing set this saturday and TiC manual linkage update piece on the roo. Rotella T6 5w40. Also added the Fumoto oil plug valve for easier future changes. No more swimming around for bolts in the pan :)

But I think I'd like to get a larger oil filter next time too...

Finally was able to get the winter tires on yesterday, driving on summer tires these past few days was a little too exciting for my taste! It's an interesting look, the mild drop springs combined with the intentionally tall 215/60r16s... Meatybear approved @tehfuzz? :D

I like the meaty tires...I'm going with a slightly taller tire on the leggy myself. What springs did you end up going with? stock struts still?

Good thing i have a front lip that held it together and not break it into pieces! But still.. :censored::censored::censored:

They're Mach V sport springs, about a 1" drop on a wagon, with a 3/8" saggy but spacer (not sure if necessary, but was cheap and easier to do when Sjogun was swapping the springs than later). I'm quite happy with the setup for the price. Right now between the springs and the taller winter tires I'm pretty much back at stock clearance, which suits me fine for the snow season :)
Running KYB Excel-G struts #becausecheap, I've heard complaints about them being harsh but they seem fine to me, maybe the springs help make the combo better matched? Or it's entirely possible that I'm just blissfully ignorant, I should have someone who has experience driving a bunch of properly set up cars like you take it for a spin next summer.

Hah hardly! I don't think there's anything that you've done to your car that isn't miles ahead/better than the dinky stuff I've done to mine - just didn't want to leave incorrect info posted. I'll double check when I get outside, my memory is terrible.

Continuously checked UPS Tracking to see if my new rims and WS80s are at my house yet ... but they probably won't be today :( Still driving on summer tires, which has gotten me pretty close to some sticky situations!

Finally getting ready to put mine back together. Adding an oil pressure gauge, so I thought I'd make a cubby pod for it and the failsafe gauge I already had.

I'll probably paint it black before it goes back in the car. Thanks Nuke for the deal on the gauges too. :)

Yesterday Brian and Nuke installed and tuned the OMNI 4 bar. My car is running great again!

Today i put the OEM trunk lid back on because even though the Seibon carbon fiber lid looked cool and was so light, i needed a functional lid :(

It will be for sale soon.

What wasn't functional about the CF lid?

The only function lost with the CF lid was you can't use trunk springs. But rare earth magnets did a great job holding the trunk open, it just needed to be hand assisted the rest of the way down.

Sure is. If this wasn't my DD it would still be on the car.

Most CF hoods are the same way and require hood pins/prop.

Stared longingly at it in the garage. Ran my hand over the trunk. Cried a tear that immediately froze to my face. Then went inside.

Nice! That engine has an 8200rpm redline from the factory though right? I'm sure a stock EJ25 would not have come out of that situation very well.

Had a block heater installed today. I would have tackled it myself, but without a garage it would suck pretty bad. Only spent $130 total, heater and labor. Not bad.

The Cedar Holiday has been down for a few days, but went by this morning and was able to run the car through for the first time in about 1 1/2 weeks. Looked good....for about 5 minutes. A trip north to New Brighton changed that quickly! Oh well.

Sweet! Someone on here with about the same mileage as me!

I upgraded to an OEM 20mm rear sway bar and put some eBay projector headlights on so I can do a proper retrofit to my OEM headlights over the winter.
