Bench testing Subaru parts on an Acura...at least it's a V6 Acura, but still blasphemy  ;)

Got the estimate in from the body shop $4400. Ouch! Stupid deer! Now its wait and see what the insurance company says.

$4400 buys you a lot of good parts, if you install them yourself!

Word to that, insurance payments + installing good used parts yourself FTW. :)

I finally got around to perfecting my crank start system in case my starter goes.

Thanks to the heat gun, that goofy 13.1mm diff socket and a $10 siphon pump from Menards this diff/tranny fluid swap took less than two hours. :D

The stupid insurance company hasn't made a decision on whether to fix or total the car. I am beyond pissed about this situation. I even tried to cancel the whole process but I guess that's not an option now.

Someone decided to add stripes to my bumper cover with their car yesterday:banghead:. I hand washed it on Monday and it wasn't there so this happened at work or while at a movie Monday night. Pisses me off.

I've started to plan my build for the winter/spring (talking with @Nuke)

Bore and hone (probably balancing as well)
    Manley pistons
    Manley Turbo Tuff rods
    New OEM crank
    ACL bearings
    ARP head studs
    Head porting
    GSC springs
    GSC S2 cams
    TGV and air pump delete
    New fuel rails/pump/injectors
    Killer B pickup and baffle
Southbend 6 puck clutch and lightweight flywheel
Beatrush motor and trans mounts (Beatrush trans bushings too)

I'll probably have to upgrade to a better BOV to prevent leaks. This will all support a 60-1 turbo and should make for a fun DD/track car :)

Replaced both front hubs (with new wheel bearings) and replaced both front axles (both had totally torn and completely separated inner boots) on father in laws 99 forester. Also replaced climate control unit...that was interesting with the cables to say the least. Biggest pain in the butt...removing snapped cotter pin remnants from tie rod ends and ball joints.

I had the sticker replaced for my unlimited car wash. The one lady at the station didn't seem entirely thrilled about it. Thankfully she wasn't the one helping me.

The took it off, and put a new sticker in the top corner. New sticker is narrower than the first one. I am much happier with this placement.

Ugh. Some how I found another gas pump that's vomits fuel on the side of the car. Thankfully it was a holiday, and I didn't feel so dumb washing the car in this drizzle with my wash pass.

Dropped it off at the shop last week to get a strange noise figured out (and an oil change) while I was on vacation with the fam, and today got to pick it up after getting back to town. Turned out to be a broken sway bar link. Fresh oil, fresh link, all set for some sub-zero temps.

Block heater on my VDC. Just in time too, mine was struggling with 0 and below temps even with new sparkplugs. Battery may be needing replacement soon, but at least I have a trickle charger in the meantime
