My fpr went out last week so I decided to get a tomei one. Pulled the manifold, did tgv deletes and ran soft fuel lines instead of the steel ones. Need to adjust my fueling a little bit and she should run awesome again!

Truthfully, it startled me quite a bit. I wouldn't say quite that much, but enough to make me not drive with my mouth open for fear of glass shattering into my face (...not sure if that really happens/can happen, and I'm not really a mouth breather... but safety first).

    Lolol

I had something similar happen to me quite a few years back. I was sitting in the car staying warm on a -10/-20 degree morning at 5:45am. Hot air from the dash defroster meeting that cold air on the outside of the glass. When it went, i could have sworn that it was a gun going off in the cab!

So, update your FS thread with "new windshield"!? ;)

Yessir!!! Conveniently, the repair shop that my insurance wants me to use is less than 2 miles from the school I teach at, so it should be a painless ordeal.

I had a small chip in mine go all the way across the windshield in an instant on one of those below 0°F days earlier this winter. Wife and kid in the car at the time. It was a bit startling.

During summer they'll replace the glass at your home or work, but in the winter they make you bring it in. Usually it's really close by. Mine was under 5 min from work.

Made some air pump delete plates today. Then it's fuel rails @xluben. After that comes tgv deleted tumblers and finally a bov adapter. Very excited for the up coming motor build and love that i can make things that will go on my own car :)

I took advantage of an empty parking lot and wound up with a misfire on #4 -- that is what I did to my WRX today!

Well, dropped it off this morning for the appointment before work, got the call that it was finished and called back early in my lunch. Unfortunately due to my night-class schedule, my lunch break was the only time I could pick it up. After having a ride lined up, she ended up going home sick. I called back and asked if there was anyway a tech could drop it off, and I could drive them back to the shop, and that my work is only about 1 mile away. Not only was the work done quickly and efficiently, but they drove it to me at work no problem. Excellent review coming for their work/efforts, and will definitely bring business back if it is needed again!

How long were you continually in boost?

    Potentially.

Boost, didn't seem long, i'd probably overestimate the time but <30seconds. Mostly 1st and 2nd. I believe the CEL kicked in when I went from 2nd to 1st after running across the parking lot. About 1/8th mile (~660ft).

The CEL started flashing, and after talking to @Sjogun he says that is a "hard misfire". I cleared it, but it's come back at idle.

All of that said, I'll start a thread, rather than threadjack this one, to document the process. I've already started looking for new/old heads in case it went titsup.

4-5 hours later and a trip to grimmspeed for some exhaust gaskets, I finally got that pesky front 02 sensor out and replaced. No more cel for this guy.

Fuel rails worked great with a test fit except they needed a little more injector connector clearance. Good now!

I didn't see the ridiculously big curb in the parking ramp downtown. I drove the bumper over it, snapped off some plastic, and backed up. Nothing but plastic damage, but I can't imagine it'll be cheap.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a shop to do the bumper replacement/painting? I may leave it until spring, but it's killing me inside. :censored:

If you are claiming it on insurance, I would call now but wait till spring to fix it.

My deductible would be cheaper than the repair, but I'm not sure I want to make a claim. Can a simple bumper replacement raise my rates? I've always followed the rule of never ever contacting the insurance company, unless I absolutely have to.

Personally I would just leave it. Its not that noticeable.
You might be able to find a used bumper of the same color if you look for a while.

Considering what a new bumper cover, painting, and labor cost, I'll look for a used one. Someone will get rear ended or swap out their bumper someday, right?

When you do get another bumper you should think about keeping the broken one to use in the winter for this reason.

Curbs don't grow shorter/contract in the winter time FailRad.

But its not a bad idea either! I just use bubble wrapz in the winterz on my bumpzorz.

True, but they do hide. I wear bubble wrap if I can't find my helmet in the mornings.

I bought a new bumper. I busted more of the last one than I thought, and it killed me to see it all screwed up. Morrie's parts department gave me a good deal on the new bumper, and Rogers Auto Body in Plymouth did a great job with the paint. Feels great to have her back in good shape again!

    Yes, I quoted myself.

Put LEDs in the brake lights, white led reverse lights, white led license plate lights, nice bright white led in the dome light and got two amber leds for the small running lights in the headlights. I didn't put those in yet, hands got too cold to mess with those.
