What did you do to your subaru today?

I put more gas in my car. It seems like this is all I do lately. I got 29.5 MPGs which is good. I was going to was the salt off my windows with the little scrubby things at the gas station as well but they were all frozen into the containers. which sucks cause my windows are pretty bad now, I was in the middle lane passing a salt truck (in the right lane) last night and he turned on his salt sprayer and got my whole car. GGrrrr!!!!

More importantly I need to wash my headlights.

 

mounted up the winter tires onto the rims.. will install them soon

 

bought 2 gallons of undiluted coolant/antifreeze, project for the weekend, pull my thermostat (its not seating right and leaks a tiny bit), drain radiator, etc. Refill.

I'm gonna go 40%cooland, 60%water. I dont need the low temp protection out here, it only gets below freezing like 6 days a year.

Installed a hitch!

 

spark plugs, fuel filter and p/s belt.... decided against installing the snow shoes till maybe next seeing as it will be high 40's all week...

Got my coolant/antifreeze flushed, and took the thermostat out, smoothed out the thermostat housing edges, and RTV'd it before putting it back in. Hopefully no leaky this time.

I ended up only using one gallon of the antifreeze/coolant, and it ended up a 50/50 mix.

Little did I know our coolant system was only 7.7L. The last Coolant flush I did was on my chevy's 350 where I used almost 4 gallons. I get to return the extra coolant and get my moneys back, probably spend it on injector cleaner or something.

Need plugs and a new battery too, so I decided today.

 

Timmy my man threw on an intake on my car...tomorrow i change oil and he shows me how to change/flush tranny fluid (NEEEEDDSS ITTT)

 

Shibbs installed a gmbcs and bullwinkle tuned it for me today. It is a brand new car!!

 

Called around for a few people to modify my downpipe for me so I can use it.

Anyone good with welding and willing to help me?

 

well we (grayguy and myself) pulled the motor on the wagacy to see finally see the damage to the clutch from last years ice race.... lets just say the damage is epic and i will have pics up tomorrow night when i get it all put back together.

I finished putting the new bearings in the rear knuckles for my disc conversion. Now I think I just need to find some 10mmx1 banjo bolts and washers for the rear calipers and pick up a set of rear brake pads and I'll have all the parts finally.

 

everything go okay??? did I get you all the needed hardware and such?? how did those hangers work out?

get a gmbcs before you have him do it. It will allow for better waste gate control (is what I understand) which equals more boost

I should take you for a ride, it is a completly new monster now with a good tune on it!!!

 

^^^ well I have to figure out if I can openecu the ecu I have which is an ecutek tune.. save that files then do it.. if not then I need to send my old ecu in to be fixed first

 

Yesterday I seafoamed and replaced spark plugs which was far easier than I had thought it'd be. I didn't get nearly the Spy Hunter effect from the seafoam that I thought i'd get but there was some white clouds for sure.

 

no more coolant leaking out of my suby! Temp stays a little lower now too.

On the docket: New battery and spark plugs, get a tune, clutch, pressure plate, new front rotors/hp pads, good brake fluid. All that will have to wait until after the holiday season, spending too much money on plane tickets lately.

 

Finally installed that $9 skid plate I got

I took the front clip off one 93' T-leg and put it on the other. Now I just need to swap over 4 doors, all the brakes, the interior, put the tranny together and install it, and put the 22t back together...i need more time...

I returned my extra gallon of coolant for my $10 last night. I am really noticing a tranni shudder, and a late grab on my clutch, so getting my flywheel resurfaced and a new clutch and pressure plate are now on the top of my list.

Just got the car back from the paintshop where they fixed the clear coat that was chipping off this wednesday the snowtires go on

 

I did a 11 hour detail on my subaru yesterday, washed, clayed, polished, polihed some more, alky wipe, quick detailer wipe, wax, buff=arms falling off even when I used my new pc orbital buffer. I'm glad there are no more swirls though and my paint feels soft now, yum! THe day before I installed my $30 group-n tranny mount (hella of a deal) and my tic trany x-member bushings, shifting is 100X better.

 

looked at my dirty whore in disgust thinking that she hasnt had a bath in a month

 

cleared my headlights and "jdm" tail light conversion.

 

added a little synthetic mobile 1 oil to it. it seems to use a use a little bit per few thousand miles

 

LOL, now it will use even more.

Mobile 1 synthetic is notorious for disappearing.

 

My subie took all my leafs to the recycle center. Wagons FTW!

 

dirty.. what is your definition of dirty.. this is mine... (pictures dont really show it.. been 2 tone for almost a week.. no use washing it..the next day I go back on dirt/mud roads anyways)

oh and I put mah winters on... gotta put the skid pan back on though after doing the other work the other day...

I'm sitting on the side of the road with a flat and a spare that doesn't clear 4 pots. A certain someone owes me a new spare that works on my car. This sucks.
