A few things I got done in the last few days. Getting ready for some track time on 6.20.15 at Brainerd international raceway.
Installed 2pot rear calipers, and Stoptech stainless steel brake lines:
Got the last aluminum hood in the country, painted and installed. Steel hood (bare) weighed 32 lbs, aluminum hood (bare) weighs 14lbs!

Still have a WRX wagon :( rear sway bar to install, 17mm vs the stock 13mm RS one. Should be a little better.... Right? Also have to secure a bunch of stuff interior wise(afr gauge, power fc commander, ecu), flush my brake fluid with motul 600rbf, trans/diff fluid change, oil change (T6), install Hawk HP+ pads all the way around, maybe an alignment..

Getting an early start on the winter beater, aka Drift Dodger. Scored some used Outback struts this past weekend; put 'em in last night.

Looking awesome! An alignment would be wise, esp. if you've made suspension changes (sway bars don't really affect alignment). And definitely new brake fluid!

So a year and a half ago, when my car was down the first time, I had pulled the tranny to fix a leaky shift shaft seal. Lo and behold when I cracked open the back of the transmission I found the diff circlip dislodged and it had chipped one of the transfer case gears.

Forums to the rescue - I found a new circlip locally, and got it back on the road with the chipped gear whining away. I still needed the gear, and Medic_538 came through with an entire back half of the tranny. Thanks again Randall if you read this! Long story short, I spun a bearing at 106 miles and the job went to the bottom of the list.

Finally swapped them out last night.

Brought my WRX into Morrie's for it's 30k mile maintenance. Decided to watch the dash cam footage, and think that the dude may have hit my hood on another car. I'm not 100% sure, so what do you guys think? I'm leaning towards no...

WTF! I've worked for dealerships before and they never ever moved cars with the hood open.. That is ridiculous!

Is it ridiculous enough to bring up with their management? I don't want to get anyone in trouble, and nothing was damaged, but the general lack of care with my car was a bit off-putting. You should see the rest of the video...

Lol maybe you should show us some more of the out takes..
Just them moving the car with the hood up probably isn't enough, they may say they do it all the time and that it isn't against company protocol. Etc. etc.
But that to me seems completely not ok..

I have to admit, I too have moved my car with the hood up...just a few feet in the garage. Almost hit some of the $h!t I have hanging from the ceiling, so that cured me of that.

I assume you think he may have hit the green car on the lift to the left of where yours was parked, correct? I think the wide angle lens of the dashcam made it look closer than it was. I think when you saw your hood wobble was when the car came to a stop. With just the prop rod holding the hood open on one side of the hood, it takes very little to cause that hood to move.

I agree, but I just wanted a second opinion. Regardless, it was careless.

I'm hesitant to post the rest, as it wasn't that bad, but enough where I don't want to get someone in trouble. I'm sure it's no different anywhere else, and we all know the difference between how other folks treat our stuff and how we treat it. That said, the folks at Morrie's have been nothing but awesome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

EDIT: They should totally trade me for that Launch Edition STi sitting on their lot. I'm a very upset customer. ;)

Replaced the alternator and a belt today. The belts I got from Subaru dealership was really hard to install so I went to autozone and those fit perfectly. Returning the oem ones. Also replaced the idler pulley since I was in there.

    Did a few things recently.

My Crawford AOS was leaking, so i got rid of the zip ties on the tubes and replaced them with hose clamps.

Got some parts for my upcoming FMIC install. I will be getting the ETS SS FMIC. So far i have a flange for my BOV, piggy back cable for IAT and a GM IAT sensor. ETS is happy enough to weld my flange on after i send it in. There should be enough room to install the lower GrillCraft grill (to protect IC) and why not put the upper grill in since i have the scoop grill too. A new "Aluminati" emblem will replace the "STI" on the grill.

RS Motors will be tuning my car, couldn't get ahold of NF when i started this whole thing and think it would be cool to see before and after dyno sheets for TMIC vs FMIC.

Should be fun or more fun because its already fun lol

Forgot to mention this will make filling oil very tricky, so i will have to make a new filler tube to bring it over but at the same time i could make a cap too!

I second that, never driven a BRZ/FR-S. I'm not going to the cruise so I won't get a test drive:(. Should of asked the sale rep at the dealership to let me take out their BRZ just for the heck of it when I was shopping.

Haha. My next event is the Amery Airport AutoX on Aug 29th. Plan to go with 255/35/18 Federal 595-rs-r after that as recommended by Kurt and Ben.

Also as a vendor I can't view those threads unless I log out.

"Tracked" it for the first time this weekend, and knocked one off the bucket list at the same time ("racing" at Cedar Lake Speedway). Apparently the announcer and crowd were loving on the Subaru. (Please disregard the mother in law screaming like a freak...)

Hey, the RSR's are an awesome this, I used to be a huge fan myself. Except the autox rules changed the minimum treadwear rating, so I can't use them for street categories anymore :(

I'll PM you the details of what I have for sale in case you want some cheaper sticky summer tires!

This past week: Got notice that my 595 rsrs shipped, found out my AVO endlink failed up front, installed the koyo aluminum radiator, refinished the BBS rk's, got my dot 5.1 fluid, ordered technafit SS brake lines and project mu pads. This week: order new endlinks and sway bar bushings since I r dum and ordered the wrong ones.

Just looked and you're from Fargo. Can't help ya with that. Elko down here runs them multiple times a year, but is an asphalt track. Was pumped when I heard Cedar Lake was going to do it. However, definitely a rougher ride than a anticipated.

Contemplating doing Elko at least once just for the smoother ride. Most likely get spanked even worse tho since she's pretty much stock.

Id be willing to go to Elko with you when they have the spectator drags on the eve of destruction. I gotta look when the next one is but I know its spendy to get in, at least $15 a person. Let me know when you want to go and Ill see what Ive got going
