Installed a Sony DVD/Navi head unit in my bugeye ( courtesy of @djhamp ) to replace the cheapo Kenwood CD player that was in it since I bought her 6 years ago.

Thanks to Sheen's help, got some stuff ready to go on the RSVX! Rattling heat shield off, auxiliary wiring for the cooling fans rewired, refitting the mudflaps so that they no longer rub, and test fitment of the new to me Team Dynamics! They clear the WRX brakes by a mile! Thank God because I thought that we were going to have to modify things to run 15's. :)

    Thanks Sheenis!

Even more clearance than the Slipstream 15's I run on my car!

This wasn't today, but last week. 3 years later we made the drive back out to South Dakota in the Forester again.

Last time I only got 18-19MPG with the bikes on top. This time we left the bikes at home and mileage went up. The tint (20% front, 5% rear) made a huge difference. We drove in bright sun and close to 90°F weather much of the time and with the tint and AC it was easy to make it too cold in the car. Big difference for keeping the kids happy. The new Pirelli P7 tires seemed to do well. Nice and quite and handled predictably. Spent about 3 hours of freeway driving in pouring rain on the way back and it was drama-free. Overall the Forester proved to be a solid road trip car again!

Finished my audio upgrades this weekend by putting a bunch of junk in my trunk. The car had only the 2 side trim pieces in it when I bought it and some idiot put dynamat all over and expanding foam in the spare tire well. After cleaning everything out I sprayed undercoating on the trunk floor...
    23341.jpeg
Then mounted my battery back there just for fun (and other reasons)...
    20151018_151945.jpg
I built a floor using 1/2" MDF and a panel for the back of the seat with 1/8" hard board and covered both with carpet. The raised frame is to keep my enclosure in place and can be removed or repositioned if needed. I also made the sub/amp easily removable by adding a heavy-ass connector for the power/ground cables and a little harness for the remote wire...
    20160702_165756.jpg
Done! Now I have a fully-trimmed trunk and a sub that takes minimal effort to pull out and reinstall...

What little cabin place did you stay at? Wife and I went out there a few years ago in the WRX. Went through Custer State Park and whatnot. Some SWEET roads to drive on out there in a sporty car.

Hart Ranch. There are a lot of windy roads with large elevation changes.

Did you do the horse trail rides? They were pretty neat 20 years ago... (I think it was 1994 that my family went there) Did they try to sell you a timeshare? :D

Didn't do any horse rides. Not even sure if they have that any more. My in-laws are members (they have a large camper) so we're included at some family membership level.

Boring stuff. Replaced front rotors and front and rear diff fluid in the 05 LGT. Agh...love the smell of gear oil in the morning. It smells like victory!

Dammit, @xluben every time I see that it reminds me of how much I need to lower mine and get new rims. Too bad new central air was more important than cosmetics.

Replaced the stock front pipe on the brz with one from ACE, Removed a cat and a resonator. Next step will be heads from ACE over the winter and likely a different catback as the N1 I have will likely be to loud without any restrictions. [IMG]
