On Saturday we loaded up the Outback and drove down to Duquette to do Subaru things (Nemadji winter rally). Then we left the Subaru in the parking lot, I rode in Dan's FJ for sweep, and my wife tagged along with my Dad and uncle in their RV to go marshall. I got one picture as we arrived at Kristofer Yahner's Impreza in the ditch after rolling twice. We winched him back on the road, and he drove back to service, pretty bashed up, but I think if the windsheild hadn't been pushed in on the side, they could have competed in stage 3 and 4.
Nothing fun like Chux! I rotated tires on the leggy and cleaned and re-lubed all caliper slide pins. Woohoo! And tonight put in a new starter! Contrary to what you may read on other forums, you do not need to go under the car to get that bottom starter nut off.
Cleaned up/removed/fixed all my bugeyes rear wheel well rust. Also decided to fix my oem bumper up for the hell of it because fixing was much cheaper than a new cover. It turned out to be a 8/10 which Im very happy with. Amost cant even tell I punched 5 holes in it from backing up into a fed ex trucks lug nuts. That's wet plasti dip on it.
Blood transfusion. New Rotella T6 and a wix a couple days ago. I use this stuff cuz i was told by the past owners that it was the only oil the car had ever seen. However i have heard that this t6 formula has changed for the worse. Can anyone confirm this? I just wanna know. Ill still be using rotella for Betty.
Git got that tip all white, mang! J/k. Christmas morning I drove from Becker to Plymouth in all that icey mess, and my exhaust tip was all frosty when we arrived. Kinda weird. I loled
Prepped and drove the H6 to Harris to put her into "late" hibernation. Was so much fun driving it out there!(with the exception of the lack of interior and a leaky exhaust) Ready to roll... Support vehicle supporting... See you in the spring for another season of shenanigans!
What is on the Dodge? Rust (most likely for a Chrysler product), sand, dog poop, or baby barf? And shouldn't that STI be in storage and your winter beater racing the Challenger? And on a related note, I can't believe the number of current gen Challengers I see on the road in the winter. Plus I saw a '69 Camaro a couple of days ago. WTF is wrong with people? Four hundred-plus horsepower, rear-wheel-drive cars make so much sense in Minnesota in the winter.
Yes.(all of the above-extra baby barf) No, because Subaru. You can see that there is a fair amount of snow on the ground in that pic. RWD is ftw in the snow!(just not against a fire breathing AWD drift missle) And a Dodge can rust even if you garage it in the winter, so what would be the point? It really is a bit mind boggling that someone would take a classic Chev out in this crap. Unless it's a rusted out bucket already.
I've seen 3 different people riding motorcycles in the last two weeks down in chanhassen and minnetonka.
Replaced the starter in our 95 Legacy LS. While at it, cleaned and sanded the engine/body ground wire contact points. FWIW, lower starter nut is a 17mm for the next guy.
A new NSX I presume? I see ads in the newspaper for them being in stock. I suppose if you're gonna buy one you need to go on a test drive.
I've seen a few in the HarMar area. They meet up sometimes in the parking lot by Barnes & Noble. Usually summer though. I'm blown away someone is driving them now, new or old, given the roads.
Kissed my first curb with the WRX this morning. Luckily it was a peck on the cheek and not a full on make out session. I swear I could feel the tire squish ever so slightly to absorb the impact (tread side, not sidewall). Talk about dodging a bullet.
I think we've all been there at some point. Although when I had my little session, it was full on make out session, no saliva...aka middle of the summer, completely dry, no rain or snow.
Going in dry is always the best! -I ordered parts for mine and stared at it sitting on jack stands all lonely like in the garage.
-New headunit -New silicone intake from TB to stock airbox -New catback to replace the one I had on it. One I had on it is going to be to loud when I order headers here in another month or so.

I visited my storage garage today to pay my rent and I patted my car on the hood, and whispered, "soon".
WTB:stock WRX/STi turbo back Also, start it up and take a short vid for us so that we can hear the sound enhancement.
Indeed it is! I wish I would have made the video! It sounded...nice...? I actually had picked up @jamusix 's catback and of course the rotted part was further forward The "more power" was tamed quickly! Haha. We were able to just cut out a 4" section, and welded some new pipe into it. All in all a 1.5 hour project! Honestly, I'm really hoping he pulls the trigger on a new wrx/STi in the next couple months so I can really start cleaning this one up. Still only 119,000 miles, he is the original owner, and with the exception of some rust and paint flaking, the car is in decent shape. For a 14 year old car it still puts a smile on my face!
Posting this up for Gary from CWSC as he's not on here regularly. What did he do? He flattened his STi with bags!

pulled most of the rest of the interior of the white car out. rear trunk trim and carpet were removed and sold, rear seats and all seat belts are going to the same buyer this week. they're going in to an 05 LGT wagon that's been repainted wrb.... it's a good looking car. also sold the rear cargo cover and door flap, a brake light and the one good headlight.
Car wash through SA and then a bucket of hot water in the garage was waiting immediately afterward to get what it missed. 5W-40 Rotella oil change as well. Mama just loves a squeaky clean sonic yellow bugeye!
