Got some STi seats for the 09 Forester. Super pumped about it. Just have to figure out why there is an airbag light... gotta swap the passenger seat back in to troubleshoot. But still super happy.

Non-subaru engine find of the day. A complete (including exhaust) single port 1600cc engine for less than a 4th generation trust fund.

Hit 200k on the chassis of my bugeye. Motor is some where around 240k, really wish I would have wrote the milage down before parting it out. Totally did not plan for the trip meter to be at 200 at the same time, happy coincidence.
What's the highest mileage anyone has seen on a Subaru? 20220418_065724.jpg

I saw 960,000 on a bugeye in Montana around 2009. Guy said he was a non-regional sales person for an oil firm and got reimbursed for mileage so he just kept replacing engines and transmissions

I installed the ChargeSpeed hood I've had laying around forever a few days ago! Will slowly be doing more stuff along with fixing my S13.
Hit 100k on this machine back in January.

And jeez I haven't been here in forever. There's a few memories from me being a dumb teen that I hope will be preserved for years to come.

    new Whiteline shifter bushings
    new hatch struts.

I'm getting closer to the decision to just buy the smyth kit and calling it a day.

Drove it for the first time in over 6 months...

Fired up the silver one yesterday long enough to move it out of the way to get the blue one in the garage. Silver one sounded fine for a few minutes but once it was warmed up a little she sounded pretty bad (burnt valve and currently has just the downpipe on).

Took the cat back off the blue car that was originally on the silver car and replaced it with this new to me HKS cat back I got from @FD3Seven . Fitment was perfect and it sounds amazing. Definitely stoked on that purchase now that I got to put it into use.

Drove the blue one to work this morning and damn it feels good. It's amazing how fast a slow car can feel after you've been driving a turd for an extended amount of time ('01 Ranger with a 2.3...)

Last potential family drive in the WRX out to Lucette’s on back roads. Great car, great drive. Frozen II soundtrack really tied it all together.

I believe the Wilderness is $1,000 less than the Limited XT, if you’re not adding options to either. The main package for the Wildnerness is the moonroof and reverse auto braking, which is around $1,900. So they’re fairly comparable.

I went with the Limited over the Wilderness because the Wilderness did not come with memory seats or a heated steering wheel. I could do without the heated wheel (although it’s nice on my wife’s FXT), but as a potentially shared vehicle at times, the memory seats were important.

I’m more likely to use those seats than ever throw a roof top tent on the car. The Wildnerness is neat, and I was initially going to go for it. Just trying to be practical with this daily!

The fuel economy differences would probably add up to be a lot over time as well.

That actually looks attractive from that angle and in that "color" (I'm usually not a fan of anything on the grayscale).

People over on the Subaruoutback.org forum are complaining about how bad the milage is on the Wilderness. Bigger tires, turbo, and I believe a different gear ratio, all factors they didn't consider before purchasing. My 3.6 is getting way better mileage than what they're reporting.

    :bounce:

Buys car for "off-roading", complains about the mileage it gets on-road. Just buy a "toy" instead...?

I went with silver because it should be easy to maintain. I’m just at that point in my life. Color options weren’t my favorite otherwise. They just need to make everything in WRB.

Yeah, it’s not like they hide the worse fuel economy either. Coming from daily driving a Cadillac CTS-V with an LS6, this is going to be great for fuel!

The BMW is just lowered on some H&Rs. It does look quite low in that pic!

I’m glad it’s coming home too. Should be completely different from the last time I drove it with the various modifications.

Sometimes I wonder how man of "us" they would suck into buying one of their boring a$s cars simply because of the WRB cool factor. Haha.

It still throws me off seeing the old Forester "Sport" I think it was called that came in WRB.

If I had my choice right now, I'd take that and lift it on Forester struts and add a hitch. I would love to combine my WRX sedan and my Forester.
