    Heck yeah.

One cool thing I've noticed about these is that only the white part is reflective (or at least I think so) so when driving behind someone at night the letters/numbers just pop like crazy because of the vehicle's license plate lights, while the black kinda just blends into the car. Even better with a frame around it.

Now that it's officially mine (transferred the title today), here's lucky #13.

Did some body work on Wednesday to at least get the destroyed fans off of the front of the motor.

    Snapchat-331529021.jpg

Got a couple small projects in line before this thing can really go under the knife, but looking forward to hopefully resurrecting it soon. Ordered a new radiator yesterday and still gotta locate a few crucial parts (mainly a hood, if anybody knows of anything!).

So I've got a silver 04 Forester here that's na and needs new head gaskets. Again... It's been parked for well over a year already and the wife and I decided to sacrifice its front clip to save this FXT. My plan if I can't find an FXT hood is to have some fun with the na hood. I've already been looking at muscle car style scoops but man are they spendy. Haha.

Got a new high output alt put in to prep for the audio system. Puts out 167 amps at idle and 273 max. It's from apex and already see a different in voltage compared to stock and only audio upgrade I have right now is my receiver.

Recently pulled the rear bumper cover off my BRZ to take care of a little rust spot that was forming on the bottom edge of the quarter panel. While I had it off I thought I'd take out the reverse light to tint the lens and add some LED bulbs, but some seized hardware resulted in a broken housing... Ended up just replacing the damn thing with a smoked Valenti one to match the tail lights, which I definitely wasn't planning to do but still prefer the look of.

I also love that look! Nice work! I looked into Valenti when I got the BRZ because the pre-2017 model tail lights are pretty fugly. Needless to say, they weren’t quite fugly enough to justify the cost. Lol

Curious as to whether or not you took any before and afters of said rust spot?

Did not think to take before and after pics but got one during. Wasn't much, just a little on the edge where the bumper cover meets the quarter. It had some repair done in that little spot and I'm guessing they either scratched it putting the cover back on or didn't prep that edge very well. Rest of the work looks pretty decent though. The "repair" I did was just sanding off the surface stuff, brushing on a little rust reformer, primer, and then touch up paint/clear.

Seems like a common problem. As you know, mine has a fair amount of rust in the exact same spot.

Decided that I wanted my wife to ride with me in the car more so I uninstalled my Cold air intake. Good bye whoosh!

Not really a sexy project but it was fun to work on it a bit.

This might be getting into boomer Corvette/collector car owner territory, but while browsing Etsy I came across a guy who makes little trim bezels to fit in the seat heater switch panels and I had him make one for my BRZ. Not to everyone's taste I'm sure, but I thought it was an interesting detail to add.

Dig it! How did you figure out that yours is 109? I saw your post about looking up your bugeye before and tried it on the BRZ. Didn’t really get much for results though

I always wished that they would have numbered the series blue models

There's a "registry" someone posted on FT86club.com that I came across. It lists them all out (at least the last few digits of the VINs anyway), says where they were initially sold, and which members there own which ones. Looks like there's one for yours too:

How did you figure out yours is 109 when 109 on that list says it's white? I'm assuming there's 500 of each white and hyper blue, so it's probably mixed up. Just curious as to how they divide them up per color. Kinda weird they didn't segregate those two colors like they did WRB and the pearl white.

Yeah, there would be two of the #109’s per year. One white and one blue, based off of the VIN.

So based off of the info listed there, it looks like they would just run them #1-1000? Doesn’t look separated between colors. And I found mine twice. Lol. Two different numbers. I’ll have to cross reference with the car later

The hyperblue registry was a separate thread and arranged a bit differently, that link I posted is just for the 2015 series.blue models. If you scroll down a little further they have separate listings/numbers for the white and blue models. I have no idea if any of that corresponds to any actual serial numbers or production sequences with Subaru, but it's the only semi-official sort of thing I've seen like that.

Link to the hyperblue registry in case anyone is curious:

Had the wife help me with pulling dead cars out of the trees and around the yard today. Getting prepared for part outs and eventually sending them to U-Pull. If anyone is interested in or needs anything feel free to give me a shout. Haven't listed them anywhere yet.

I've had a couple old Mitsubishis that steering wheel leather wore out. My 09 Forester has 198k on it and no real signs of wear. My WRX had almost 60k on it before I swapped in a red stitch STi wheel. And that one now has 70k on it. Both are still perfect. I wonder what makes some wheels wear out faster than others.
