Finally removed the gawd-awful Village Subaru dealership sticker from Boston that's been on my car for 5 years (first owner didn't remove it), then washed it.

Took an hour + 1/4 bottle of Goo Gone to git er dun... yuk.

Worked on tearing down the taxi.

Slow going. Got the rear diff and driveshaft out, but encountered some seriously stuck bolts, including the 10" long rear lateral link bolts.

Got the IC off, all the bellhousing bolts off. Tranny is nearly ready to drop.

The more I peel away, though, the more seriously concerned I get about the engine. The bumper beam is smashed into the exhaust cam, and the intake cam gear is broken.

Also, whatever the oil filter screws into is broken in some way, as its rattling around loose and I can't tighten the filter on.

And the pitch stop snapped. So, something things must have bent. I mean, if the front frame hit the engine and moved it enough to crack the pitch mount - I think I have to expect that some crossmember stuff - engine or tranny - is likely bent, but it doesn't really look like it from underneath, just the front metal frame rail stuff seems bent.

So, progress. .... but I'm nervous about the damage I'll find.

    Especially that oil filter.....

Thanks to xxtraloud for coming and helping!!

ordered NPR rings, ACL bearings, PCi timing belt set, GCM water pump, and ACN head bolts for my EJ22e, all off ebay for ~$300 after shipping.

then ordered full engine gasket set, power steering pump rebuild kit, and 2 key blanks (both with the old emblem, one with a light, one without) from 1stsubaru.com. boy do their prices kick ass :yumyum:

oh yea, and boxed up my heads to send them off to Delta :yumyum::yumyum::yumyum:

Re installed my coil overs, changed the oil with some rotella-t, replaced the radiator, installed new brake pads on all four corners, flushed the coolant, installed the new wheels and tires, drove it up to Jeff the Alignment Guy and had it cornerweighted and aligned.

So, basically rebuilt the autocross car.

New front brakepads can take surprisingly long if you're drinking beer, watching a movie, and do everything while talking on the phone.

6 hours total = day well spent.

I adjusted the cat-back I recently installed. It bangs against the heat shield when I go over little bumps. I think the adjustment helped but did not eliminate the banging/rattling. I think I'm going to have to take a hammer to the heat shield.
