Got my concoction today from Grimmspeed. Will be changing the tranny fluid once I get off work. It feels like it's taking forever. Best part is, rain has stopped :D

Know why that tranny was bone dry, though? I mean, that stuff really isn't supposed to go anywhere .... :ugh:

Oh yeah, that is Scotty's, huh. For some reason I thought it was something different (though "cocktail" still made me cringe).

Yeah, snwbrdr, I think public opinion is pretty well against that stuff at this point.

It's running well so far. It's still better then what was in the tranny at this point. I've been reading nothing but good things on uncle scotty's. I thought I did enough research on it... would someone like to link to some one having problems with it?

It wasn't bone dry or leaking. It ended up being just fine but it needed to be changed any ways since I'm at 42k onthe car already.

    crashed it :(

someone made a left turn from the right lane without signalling or looking about 3 hours ago. right front of the XT6 nailed the left front wheel of a chevy lumina. I was easily going ~25mph. I had just glanced to see if there was any cross-traffic, and glanced back just as I hit her.

XT6 is epically screwed up, right front headlight (was flipped up) is folded back over the hood (so I didn't open the hood), bumper, fender, ugh. things are so tweaked, that the left front fender interferes with the driver's door enough to prevent it from opening all the way.

car was towed, probably won't know anything or have pictures for a couple days.

I'm just sick to my stomach :puke:

blue book on the car is $725 in "good" condition, which is a stretch, as it had numerous cosmetic imperfections. but was mechanically very solid. pretty much guaranteed that it'll be totalled.

also, the car was registered/insured out of WA, so I'll have to fight about this over the phone

    possibly RIP:

used the shop-vac to suck about a gallon of water out of the carpeting in my wife's legacy. turns out the part of the parking lot she was in flooded a bit and water got inside. probably through the drain plugs.

Since when are hooker corpses considered "random crap"?

I started to tinker with the adjustable struts today. Hard setting is HARD.

Custom stealth light bar for the fxt. I figure I have over $500 in rally lights sitting in a box, I might as well build a bar and get them installed before Ojibwe. And since Rally Innovations is full of fail, that means I get to make one myself.

On Saturday afternoon, I finally opened up the rear end to change the gear oil. Fortunately/unfortunately the removed oil was clean, probably could have checked it and left it alone, but at least now I can be sure. Made sure to anti-seize and properly torque down both plugs, so hopefully it will stay looking clean instead of having a tiny leak around the drain plug.

    Next, the transmission...
