I helped my dad do brakes on my moms '03 Legacy, and in turn he helped me put on WRX front brakes. (calipers, rotors, pads).

There is a huge difference with the new brakes. the old calipers were single pot, the WRX ones a 2 pot, and each pot is like the same size as on the old caliper. My car stops hella fast now. I am very impressed, also ABS needs to go now because it is kicking in while I am braking hard.

Today, removed TMIC and replaced a cracked throttle body coupler. After gimping the car along at 12-14 psi for the last week, at 22psi, I nearly pooped my pants.

Put in LED map & dome lights from http://www.superbrightleds.com

Price seems good and low, shipping was quick, and the lights look great!

I got a 3610-x4 LED Festoon bulb (36x10mm) with 4 blue LEDs for the Dome light. It lights up the cabin fairly well - I didn't want a very bright light for the dome and this was just a tad brighter than I'd like, but I'm still very happy with it. Also, it was a perfect fit.

I also got two 3710-xWHP3 High Power 3-LED Festoon bulb in Cool White for the map lights. Personally, I prefer bright map lights, so I went with the larger 37mm length Festoons to get 3 high-power leds (instead of 2 high-power LEDs in the 30/31mm Festoons). These lamps *barely* fit (had to squeeze them in), but I am very pleased with how bright they are and how nice of a color the light is.

    My license plates came today.
Are tinted license plate covers legal? They sell them at Target- but Target also sells illegal iPod windshield mounts.

    STI Short-throw comes soon.

Yes, they are. IMO it's like a freebie for a cop to pull you over and get you with a lot of other things (tint, exhaust, stuff hanging from rear view mirror, etc...)

Did alot of driving today, with still more coming up. I am interested to see what my mileage will come out to be. So far I have 177 miles on about 1/2 of a tank (12 gallon tank). This could be a good one.

I also re-torqued my wheels today. Dont want those flying off.

because the last people that did one on my mom's crv did a very bad job and i don't want it to look like that...plus the chips are very tiny...they'er not in my line of view at all...but just knowing that it's there bothers me...

Then don't use the same people.

Alternately, replace the whole thing. But I'm biased. ;)

I feel as though I accomplished alot yesterday, first thing in the morning I went with photographeralways to pick up his car from RS Motors and when we got there they said they couldnt tune it because the rear brakes were dragging (brembos yo) and they wouldnt let me work on it there. so I had to go to an auto parts store across the street, buy tools and a floor jack and try to fix it in the lot of the store. I got the brakes fixed, and fixed an exhaust leak and brought it back to rs. then they tell me they cant tune it until monday or tuesday! they ended up just scaling down the injectors so we could drive it home, but it was already on the dyno, why couldnt they just tune it then and there? ugh whatever

then I went to my shop where snowbums cars engine layed naked on my floor, we threw that in and got it running and driving.....

    I rule

Maybe it'll get a wash down tomorrow, maybe some wax. Should clean the interior, I haven't done that for...um...4 years?
