Took my boss for a ride today. Scared the crap out of him. He used to trash talk me about my wagon... No longer! I had to give him a ride to the body shop. The garbage guy dropped one of those huge green/black garbage bins on the hood of his BRAND NEW Dodge Ram. Literally has had it for less than a week... 2011... Dodge Ram... Hemi.... He may be my boss, but I still feel bad for him. If that happened to me, there would have been one less garbage man in our city. LOL

Finished installing a Viper 5901 remote start & alarm in my 06 (with a manual). The Neutral Sensor wire off the ECU works great as an input. It's set so that if either the hood is open, or it's in gear, it won't start, and reports the fault back to the 2-way remote. It even fires up my rear defroster if it's below 55F in the cabin when you remote start it. I thought that was pretty sweet!

That is sweet! How hard was it to install? Ive heard some pretty bad horror stories about remote car starters...

I merely supervised, supplied beer, and held multimeter leads while watching a very experienced (worked as an installer at Audio King/Ultimate for 8 years) friend do most of the install. :) It seemed like a lot of wires to me, but he said that, all things considered, it was actually a pretty easy install as far as they go. No diodes or special wiring whatsoever, it all hooked up as outlined in the manual.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25240521&postcount=455 This post was essential in finding wire colors.

Good choice with the 5901, I installed one in my 07 wrx last winter, I love it, it works great, love the range and the 2-way.

Drove my car 10 hours fully loaded down with rally tires strapped to the roof rack back from school and went straight to the Calhoun meet

Got the STi towed back to my shop with the turbo and suspension installed. Rolled the fenders and installed the 18x9s. Looks dope! (FYI, if ur running bremos u have to take off the front calipers to roll the fronts with a fender roller)
Oil change, bleed the cooling system, shakedown and initial tune tomorrow... maybe an alignment if I have time too

Today I will get the tires put back on my newly powder coated wheels. I can't wait to see them on the car, it is an interesting color but should look nice. I know one thing nobody has a color like it for their wheels.

Took in the replacement parts last night and today to Mr. Legendx to have them painted. Should have them back next week, and installed the week after! Got one of the fenders at Morrie's Brooklyn Park Subaru with the 20% MNSOC discount, so if anyone in the NW suburbs doesn't want to make the drive to Minnetonka, Brooklyn Park is now an option.

The clutch started slipping bad tonight on the way home. Tried doin a pull in 5th gear, and got nothin but revs for a couple seconds at least. Tried to give her more throttle then normal in the other gears, and same reaction. This wasn't happening at all before tonight. Am I right that the clutch is done?

My car did that ONCE in 5th gear. Slipped really badly. I babied it for 2 or 3 weeks, and then it was fine. Full launch and everything.

Maybe just a phantom slip? I'd start saving for a new clutch just to be sure tho.

I will get pictures but the powder that I put on them doesn't look any where as cool in pictures as it does in real life. The color on the wheels is two colors, the base is gloss black and then a topcoat/clearcoat is called shattered glass. The shattered glass is a very heavy Metal flake. The color changes from almost black to a silver/grey depending on where you stand and how much sun there is shining on the wheels. My car is CGM.

I figured I would add a couple more of the wheels, not so good pictures but it shows that the color changes. Looks way better in the sun light.

From certain angles it looks similar to the Cosimc Blue that Rota uses. I kinda like it.
