I still work at my first job(18 yrs in Feb.) I work at a place that deals in biotech/hematology products. Basically in our division we make control products out of blood to calibrate lab instruments. I pretty much prepare/sterilize supplies, print labels and collect raw blood for the products. I'm sure like any other job it has it's "moments" but it's been a great company to work for.

Economic Development project manager for a company that does financial advising for public entities (Cities, Counties, School Districts).

I facilitate City's giving developer's their future property tax payments back for investing in redevelopment projects. The redevelopment of the Brookdale Mall is a recent project I worked on.

Is that a problem? How often do you buy a product without a label? Our company made over $200 million selling our products, many had labels coming off my printer;)

Kinda sounds like a company in Nordeast that occupies a complex of really old buildings that I briefly did IT consulting at... (I won't name names)

You got it! Not only occupies but owns outright all of those buildings. I just figured the name wouldn't mean anything to most here. It's R&D Systems.

^^^ I never would have thought so many people would have even heard of the company, weird.

I'm a high school graduate who works with a bunch o scientists, there is no up lol. I like being that guy who proves hard work and dedication to what you do can get you somewhere. Hell, I built my house at 23 and live debt free other than my truck payment/mortgage all without a job title.:)

It'll get me a job with great benefits, profit sharing, a decent annual raise every one of these 18 years. I even get a reserved parking spot in the ramp:D . most importantly it's a job with steady income and hours. In these day where so many people can't or won't try to find work I'm more than happy to get up early every morning to do a job that apparently isn't good enough for some people. What do you suggest I do?

I hope you didn't start this thread to start sizing yourself with others here. Some people keep their jobs not for the money but for the challenge or their priorities. Money can only take you so far and the void in the end is unavoidable.

Don't start picking on my badbennyb just because you're in sales. ;)

Come on now, that's silly. I only work my jobs because I make a solid high six figure/low seven figure income.

You can count the two places after the decimal as "figures", right?

Are you just out of college or something? Welcome to the real world. Especially in any sort of global corporate employer. You can work your ass off and do great work, and make tons of sacrifices for your company, and they will NOT care. You are a cog in the machine, and you are expendable. The only way to get ahead in most large or huge corporate workplaces is to suck dicks. That isn't some old man cynicism either. I've watched it from my "hard worker, dedicated, quality worker perch." You have to want it, and at the same time, you have to make sure that the one that gives it to you, actually likes you. And to do that you have to become someone's lapdog and suck dicks. I will be a field engineer till I retire more than likely. And that's fine by me. Because, as much as I'd like to get a big promotion for the money, I wont suck dick for raises. And there is a good chance that I work my tail harder than anyone else in this region, and I sacrifice far more for this company than anyone has in this job. But I'll never be tapped for management because I don't suck dick or beg for attention for what I do. Not everyone is out to climb the corporate ladder. Some of us are happy where we are.

Expect to get **** on if you decide to criticize people for what they do or how long they have been doing it, even if you thoughtfully claim it's because you're "just curious". That's a dick move. Telling people to "chill out" afterwards is an extra special happy fun times dick move. I would expect more social common sense from someone proud of their sales position. Settle down with the cock waving.

Part of my job involves identifying, then guiding or terminating those who don't have the technical or social skills to function effectively on my team. ;)

So you're unhappy with your sales job so to make you feel bigger and better you pick on others? Now that's gonna open up a whole lot of opportunities for advancement in out close nit community.
