How can you possibly say this to me? You have no idea who I am! I've been at my job for about 5 years now which I'd say isn't bad for a college graduate of 5 years. You can go shove your dick in a bear trap and have a nice rest of your day.

Damn, some of you have some interesting sounding jobs. Mine isn't as glamorous as most, just a Manager at Advance Auto Parts. Been with the company for 8 or 9 years. I don't Love my job, but do enjoy it most days. It's decent paying and despite the fact that I periodically have to deal with retards that THINK they know everything in the world about automotive, generally GM tree-fity guys, it can be rewarding helping out those that are having a bad day. And as one of my former managers told me, which holds true for a lot of jobs...
"If you're in the business to get rich you made a bad choice, but if you want a Job that can be satisfying and pay you're bills, you're on the right course."

I work as a Machinist assistant at the Physics and Astronomy Research and Development Machine Shop on the UofM Minneapolis campus.. and the eye candy thing is a bonus though we dont get the foot traffic you must being as our shop is in the basement...

A lot of medical stuff that people come up with over at the UofM comes through our Machine Shop... I am 6mths out of school and still learning... Owned and Operated a Meineke Franchise for 4yrs got tired of it, sold it and worked as a Tech at a Ford Dealership for 2yrs, got tired of it and decided it wasnt a job I wanted to do when I was 80 to pay for the 75% taxes soon... so went to school for welding after graduating decided the thought of welding sucked as a full-time job so I continued on and got 2 A.A.S Degrees in CNC Machine Tool Technology and Metal Fabrication...

Goal within the next 5yrs is to setup a small fab shop at home (already have a lift, welders etc) by adding a Knee Mill, a Lathe, possibly a cnc lathe and definitely a VF2 if I can get the $$$$$ together....

So yeah in under 10 years of being in the States I went from a Bread Delivery guy to a business owner to a student to CNC Machinist and some other fill in jobs over the years... So to badbenny Itake my hat off to you for being able to stick to your job cause it is hard to find a job that you enjoy after that many years... I feel I have found mine at 38yrs of age... to the kid thats being a dick whether on purpose or not... you will grow up quick or end up working as a crack whore...

Yeah, the local Subaru group is a very diverse set of people from a very diverse set of backgrounds. And nobody likes to hear that their choice in career and the decisions they make in terms of their career are pointless, poor or stupid. Especially in the current climate of employment uncertainty.
For reference, I have already had 4 different people from this site ask me in person "who is that 666 or 8686 or whatever guy with the entitlement complex that is trolling around? What's his deal." Pretty much word for word from all of them. My advice to you would be to tone down your horse**** a bit and maybe go meet some people from the club before you start laying down your judgements and opinions on them.

I think it was in the wording that you used. Ben isn't the only one that has worked for a long time at a job without advancing. My job is similar, 10 years with this field of work and no real advancement...raises yes, advanced "job title", no. As long as you love and or enjoy what you do, that is the main thing!

Ben is a great guy and a well known member. So your wording of your comment has rubbed some of the members here the wrong way because they are friends with him. Maybe just a simple apology would be appreciated? We are a community/family here and many of us hang out somewhat regularly. We are always open to adding new members to the family, just be respectful of others and all is good! And when people are addressing you in all seriousness, a "you mad, come at me bro" comment is not going to sit well with most members. ;)

Well when I 'am not producing Hip Hop or recording artist in my studio my real job is 2.8 miles from home where I 'am a senior planner at a company that makes circuit boards for all kinds of applications. Aero space, military, medical, industrial, etc. I had a career change after 18 years with a company and got laid off so I kind off started over. *********** it pays the bills and I don't have to drive my Subaru in traffic. As far as Stuck686 nature will take car of him!!!! ****************D

Pneumatic Territory Manager for Parker Hannifin. www.parker.com or www.parker.com/pneu if you want my specific product lines I cover. Basically I work with a lot of different types of company that use compressed air in one way or another, industrial manufacturing, medical devices, transportation, process control.... just to name a few markets. 90 % of my sales go through distribution so most the time I am the vendor rep for the ND, SD, MN, WI and UP.

Hopefully though will be moving up, I have an interview today for a promotion!

That's the best you can do?

Seriously, it takes either some serious balls or a serious lack of brains to come into a group of people who you don't know and start slinging **** about their jobs. He's been at that job since you were in Kindergarten, and while he may not have "moved up" in your eyes, he's making enough to comfortably support his family, buy some sweet toys and more importantly, he's happy doing what he does. That's a rare commodity in this day and age and not dreading walking into a job every day can be worth more than a 6 figure income. I should add that he's lasted almost two decades at a company that you failed to get a job at. Not only that, but you don't have anything that you're bringing to the table as far as employment goes that allows you to take a dump on anyone else's job. So far from what I've seen you've been a Valet and now you sell piss cups, but you want to start taking shots at other people over what they do to support themselves without even knowing them?

    Awesome.

Show me where I took a stab at your job. All I did was state the two jobs we know about you having and asking where you get off criticizing anyone else.

Perhaps you're dumb enough that you've missed all of the posts from the other people who think you're a condescending little prick who doesn't have the first clue as to what they're talking about. And yes, Ben did say plenty, especially after your little crack about how he's still in the same job after 18 years.

    Keep digging.
