    I've been a violinist for almost 20 years, some of it could be considered professionally (community orchestras). I can also play the viola rather well and read the dreaded alto clef.

    The harmonica is probably the only other instrument I'm pretty proficient with. I started playing as a kid but started doing a lot more blues music with it as I got into my teens. Played with a few no-name bands and have a full set of Special 20s with extras in the common keys (C, Bb, D, F, etc.). Lately I've been favoring the guitar more but when jamming with friends I do still bring the harps.

    I have been playing guitar for a few years and finally got my ES-335 last winter. I don't compose or anything with it but I do blues jams pretty well I think.

    I picked up the bagpipes for a few years but never really took it seriously. Still have my chanter somewhere.

    I would actually like to learn the piano still. I never majored in music so I was never required to learn it.

    I'm bumping this.
    about a year ago, I found a violin in the trash at our practice space, (city sound midway)
    and I've been fixing it up. (finally ordered the missing pieces)
    on Monday, i bought a drum set for my son's 3rd birthday. (craigslist $20)
    I've been playing bass guitar in a band for about 8 years now, we practice every Sunday night. (haven't had a gig for over a year)
    Instruments I used to play:
    classical piano (4 years)
    jazz piano (2 year)
    upright bass (1 year)
    alto sax (4 years)
    I also was in the Metropolitan Boys Choir for 9 years

    currently I play a Fender Jazz Bass (JDM y0)
    ampeg svt 350 w/ 4x10" Bass Cabinet

    (also, I have a 1964 hammond organ that I need to get rid of)

    thinking about finding an upright bass in the future.

    Guitar - I have a 1962 gibson LGO acoustic, an '87 Yamaha RGX electric and a newer Yamaha electric. I've been playing on and off for fifteenish years.

    I play the guitar and played the trumpet for years. I majored in music for a year and a half before going to Tech. School. I still have my U.S.A Fender Strat that I haven't played in years.
