That does help. The face palm was for the fact that he said that its a "muffler" and you asked "what's it do exactly?" Lol, it muffles. You need to do moar muff research Failz.
If I decide later to remove the extension and muffler on the dump tube, it would just require a hack saw. Routing it into the down pipe, that requires quite a bit more and it isn't as easy to remove.
Congrats on the new home! Be realistic when going into it(unless it's been remodeled to your tastes already). 1.)Make a list of what you'd like to change right away. 2.)Cut that list in half down to the "must haves". 3.)Cut that list down to what your time/budget allows.(remember that you'll have many years to knock out projects). We try to plan/budget for 1-2 bigger house projects a year. **Bonus info: Save a really good chunk of money for emergency situations. IMO $2k is a good target # for home related emergencies. Water heaters, furnaces, plumbing are all are workhorses that fail. Go to Home Depot and get a box of furnace filters...change every 30-60 days! This may all be stuff that you know and or have thought of. But sometimes redundancy is good! Lol
Fortunately, it's move in ready. With the baby on the way, we absolutely didn't want to have projects right off of the bat. The only "big" purchase I've made is a new TV, because man cave. Good advice though! Thank you!
Great minds think alike: My "base" is actually a movers dolley from harbor freight and I attached some 1x4's to widen it. Super cheap and effective! And I have a set of those tire totes too for my winter tires that I move to the basement. Those totes also make life much easier!
Looks pretty nice. I like the movable racks, but I think my wall mount ones give me more floor space. Unfortunately I still end up with tires piled up in the corner... I might have to pick up some of those tire bags. Those look great for storage and for transport when I don't want to get covered with tire dirt.
Have you been to the new Flawless Front Ends garage? Chris has a pulley system that raises them to the roof. One word...Bawlah.
Yea, wall mount would be best. The dolley was cheaper and easier...and I'm moving soon lol. And check out Amazon for the tire totes...pretty decent pricing.
I just ordered a set of the tire totes from Amazon. I'll see how they are and then look into buying more. They seem a little nicer than garbage bags. Haha. I have the cheap folding wall mount racks. They're good enough for me and I like how they can fold up out of the way. http://www.amazon.com/HyLoft-01031-Folding-Storage-Sliver/dp/B0058BMNVU/
Yea, I have that rack sitting in my saved items on amazon lol. Perhaps will spring for one for our new place.
I have three sets of tires to store, and virtually no free wall space, hence the stacking on a dolly option. Plus I didn't relish the idea of climbing a step ladder with the tires to place them in a wall-mount rack...even more so after my first bout of serious lower back pain a couple months ago (it sucks to get old). Two sets are for SUVs and a little heavier than your typical Subaru wheel/tire combo. My first dolly was home made using casters, composite decking material, and stainless steel screws. It's a heavy b!tch. I've been storing one set of tires in black, plastic bags from the tire store...larger (and thinner) than garbage bags. The Tire Totes are much nicer, but they do not seal out all of the light if you are worried about degradation of the rubber. They appear to be the same product as Tire Rack's, and are cheaper from Amazon. The commercially made rack/dolly was from here: http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/Wheel/ES2710754/
Milwaukee portable Metal Cutting Saw w/ dry cut technology. Cuts metal up to 3/4inch and leaves the metal pieces cool enough to touch. Also collects most of the chips created from the cut in the fancy cover piece on it. Can cut square/round tubing over 2 1/2 inches too! Then also got a few more Grip-On Spanish locking pliers. Loves these things.
Got this bad boy from Ohio last weekend. One hell of a trip driving it back. https://plus.google.com/+NickJohann...6151534465465442594&oid=100624737293421945902
I have a three-car garage and I still have garage-envy. I like the additional space to the right of the smaller overhead door. That might make it possible to actually get three cars in the garage...along with all the other garage chit.
Yeah, in the listing they called it a 4 car garage, it would be tough to get 4. 2 Miata's maybe in the 3rd stall. Looking forward to not being overcrowded.
With the proper dies, yes. Otherwise it can do solid bar and flat stock as it sits right now. Will be useful for some things I'm planning on making in the near future...
Thanks! To be honest I'm not sure. I haven't made any changes, but I'm the third owner. Probably just "tired stock". lol
