HTP Pro Pulse 200 MIG! Synergic, Pulse, Double Pulse, Aluminum with no spool gun, MIG like TIG setting, auto-compensation for wire stick out length.... Has so many different settings and programs, many of which are meant to help MIG welding aluminum (hot start, crater fill, downslope, etc) without burning through, cracking, cold starts, giant craters at the end.... Plus the 4T Mig mode is super cool (press trigger and it starts the upslope program, press it a second time, and it starts the downslope procedures and automatically cuts off). So many neat things about this welder. Made in Italy too. HTP even threw in a second MIG gun that I could use exclusively for aluminum with a teflon liner in it. 3/8 Steel and 1/4 aluminum capacity, so probably will never need something larger than this! And it'll do scratch start Tig! Only bad thing is, I think they forgot to send me the ground clamp! Customer service has been top notch so far, so I'm sure they'll send me one out. Getting anxious to try it out though
2 halves of the same caliper, one treated in the bucket for about 2 hours (recommended soak time for something like this is more like 4 hours), and then cleaned up with a wire brush. After some new hardware, and some POR15
Got me a Cannondale Scalpel Carbon 3. My first full suspension bike. I'm still a hardtail fan at heart, but I'm done getting beat up on longer rides on rougher terrain. Nice thing about the Scalpel is it has a dual lock-out feature. Not as light as a hardtail, but still pretty light at about 25lbs.
Picked up a 2016 GTI, loaded up with all of the features my Subarus didn't have. I seriously love this car. Had to say goodbye to the FXT, but I'm not terribly upset about it. Down to one Subaru for the first time in a long time.
CP7150 0.401 Long Barrel Air Hammer. Had enough power to remove the caliper pin that was seized in the bracket. I spent an hour or two heating it up and using a hand hammer to get it out with no luck. Air hammer took it out in a few minutes, and even bent it a bit from how much power it has.
Here's our new old canoe! My mom bought this for my dad 33 years ago, now it's mine. Much lighter than I thought it would be, and it cleaned up really nice. Plus it floats!
Yep Here's the point where I realized that the running boards wouldn't clear the trailer fenders. Luckily the sender had a little cordless impact that we could quick unbolt them. 20171112_124517 by Numbchux, on Flickr Loaded 20171112_145203 by Numbchux, on Flickr It's a neglected old basketcase, with a questionable title situation. But the price was right even for a parts vehicle.
You gunna paint "free candy" on the side? What else are you going to use it for besides luring small children into your Kevin Spacey mobile? lol
Just got this in. Been wanting a watch with the Spring Drive movement for a long time. https://photos.app.goo.gl/8j8p1d0AljSmG8G42
Signed the papers on a sweet two car garage on Friday. It even came with a few bedrooms, bathrooms, and other junk. It's only 21x24 I believe so I am planning on eventually making it deeper. In the meantime, I have plans to fix up the attached house to make it feel a bit more useful. Maybe I'll post a project thread on the whole process.
Moar pics of garage! That thing attached to the garage is peculiar. I guess if they want to throw it in with the garage, more power to them!
Thanks. I'm going to wait until next year to paint it so I can make it a giant pumpkin next Halloween!
Of course!! The garage is unfortunately packed with useless junk like couches and tables and stuff for now. Pictures when I get that part figured out. One of the rooms came with some old cabinets that will work great in the garage, so I took them out of the house part and will strip and prime them soon. I doubt they will be of any value in the kitchen anyways.
Sheenis, is that to get you back home until you can wrap the front end? I dig it, mighty car mod sir!
I got a 20v dewalt set for Christmas from my dad because I have been using his old one at my house so much. The kit he got me was nice but I opted for the XR series instead. This morning I stopped into the depot and exchanged for the better set. (bag and battery not pictured). I figured paying the difference is still considered a recent purchase.
It looks like (on the drill anyway) that the LED to illuminate the work area is down below the handle, just above the battery, correct? I picked up the lower line (not the brushless version) M18 Milwaukee set on Black Friday and the idiots that designed it placed the LED just below clutch adjuster ring so that the chuck casts a nice big shadow where you need light when using short bits. I noticed that some other brands do the same thing. Wish now I would have bought the Bosch set.
Kinda. Was visiting my parents for the holidays and standard (non premium trim) trd off-roads are much easier to find down there... Guess everyone up here wants fake leather, heated seats, and sunroof option. They were also a bit cheaper compared to what mn dealerships were willing to do.
Correct. The drill itself has an led just above the handle and acts like a stand alone spotlight too. The impact has 3 leds right by the chuck, so it prevents shadows too. Ive used drills with the lights just above the trigger and I can only imagine it was to cut cost and simplify the wiring but the design is absolute trash.
I'm not the biggest DeWalt fan but their 3 LED's on the impacts is awesome. Slightly bummed my Milwaukee's don't have that.
OK, now I see where the LEDs are on the impact driver...nice. I think the lower line DeWalts have poorly located lights just like the cheap Milwaukees. And I'm sure you're correct about it being a cost cutting design...they could save $0.05 on wire and cause me a few years of inconvenience...fair trade. I find this diagram interesting:
Owatonna Tool Company is owned by Bosch? That is very interesting! Edit:whaddyakno, it’s right there in the Wikipediaz! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/OTC_Tool_Company Looks like Bosch bought them in 2012
Heck yeah. I remember when the OTC plant in Owatonna got "rebranded" to Bosch while we were living there. Also, I was under the impression that Home Depot owned Ryobi. Slightly funny that Miller and Hobart are owned by the same company, too.
I have the brush-less Milwaukee design and the light is still up by the trigger on the set I have. Mine isn't the newest designed version they have but yea it sucks on the drill with that shadow.
I was thinking the same thing, and that they just recently acquired Craftsman from Sears? EDIT:NVM that was just the main distributor. 99% of my power tools are Ridgid, and I've been looking at the little 12v drill sets for a while to have something quick on hand for smaller tasks. Didn't totally see the need for the 12v impact that comes in the pair, so I did pick up the 12v drill yesterday. What I do like about it this particular set up, is that it came with 2 batteries which also functions with the little palm driver, so now I have 3 of the batteries to have on rotation. One last big tool acquisition this holiday was this Hitachi 12" Compound Mitre Saw (with the "laser"). I'm super excited to play with this some more soon, but without the heated garage the anticipation will build for a few more days I think. Until then, I'm on a mission to find a solid stand for it.
Not sure how you feel about cross branding when it comes to stuff like this (I'm ocd and have to match everything when possible), but I have a Bosch gravity rise stand on my 12" slider. It's super handy. Folds up like a 2 wheeled dolly for storage and unfolds pretty easily.
On the topic of tools, anyone have a recommendation for a cheapish chop saw? Mostly for less than 1/2" mild steel and for (very) occasional projects around the house. Metal blade on my miter saw doesn't seem to have an effective blade speed and using my angle grinder or cutoff wheel takes forever. No room for a craigslist bandsaw unfortunately.
What about a hand held band saw like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...-Cut-Band-Saw-1-Battery-Kit-2729-21/205179116 Not really cheap but alot more versatile. Also if you have other stuff of the same set can get baretool for half that cost and the none brushless version for $75 less then the brushless one.
