I kinda like front squish. But I agree, it's a bit redundant on a fat bike. I did try out a Trek full squish fat bike. Farley, I think. That was a plush ride. Heavy bike, though.
I spent a good amount of time trying to race a Salsa Bucksaw in a few small fatbike races last year. I couldn't get over all the extra squish, especially when it came to fire road sprints where I would lose all power through squish. Was sad. The year before, I took a Raleigh XXIX frame, a scissor jack, some Surly Nates and a stock 26in wheel and kind of mashed them all together. Had to run is singlespeed because of the bb width, and the roll over of the 3.8's on such a skinny rim was hilariously bad. I had to run something like 15-18psi just to make it rideable!
just ordered the upgrade for the pontoon... (not our pontoon in pic haha) this one is though... with old motor that dropped a cylinder
no thats what the 15 passengers are for hahaha... when your pontoon did 38mph you have to shoot for 46+ on the new motor... haha
There is a 22 ft pontoon on the lake my cabin is on with a supercharged 300 hp outboard! The guy said it does 60, and I believe it. I saw him flying across the bay one day, had to do a double take because it just doesn't look right lol
Right? Just get a spare pontoon with no motor and bolt a bunch of old bus or van seats to it. "Tube" on steroids.
I was looking at those too... Along with dozens of other potential project cars. But at the end of the day I'm dumb and don't learn from my past mistakes. Went with the one I wanted, but couldn't afford when I was in college.
Slow externally leaking hg at the top of the driver's side head. 175k miles. Could be overboost and lifted head, could be warped head/block from overheating, could be just the hg, etc... Planning on tearing it down and inspecting further this week. Remarkably stock, everything else is in excellent shape mechanically, and body/chassis is in great shape. In any case, the purchase price was cheap. I'll still be ahead even if I need to replace motor and heads.
yeah we have a guy on the lake near us that sometimes comes thru... he has a premier similar to ours.. little higher end model with a supercharged 300... the 250 G2 etec should give it a run haha
It's @eolson 's. Where he had bad Hg so he swapped an ej203 into it. I snagged his old parts from the swap too. Super nice guy. Glad everything worked out as it did. Maddy really needed something before the end of the week and this fit the bill.
Oh its not the one then! There is one on Craigslist right now an 07 same colour with leaking head gaskets
I saw that and considered it but didn't want to have to fix another car. Garage space is basically gone.
Got some sweaters for the pups and some winters for the RS. My priorities are in line (not really at all).
