I’ve seen one of those in person...super sweet. If I remember correctly, it was mid-engine/rear engine? I think that the motor was by the back axle under the bed. Edit: if you look at your pic and zoom in, i’m pretty sure that is the access hatch for the motor represented in the bed of it.
Depends on the year...some years had the engine under the cab, later ones had it over/behind the rear axle. Nice little Daihatsus...err, I mean Subarus! Sambar!!!
Been looking at vehicles with third row seating for a while now. Unfortunately the Ascent comes with too high a number attached to it otherwise that would be adorning my driveway. It seems, however, that a minivan offers the most space/versatility and is still budget friendly.
Haha, thanks I'm really digging the versatility of it and with some new tread hopefully it'll do well in the snow. This one's super basic too, which I like. No screen, still got turn dials and pushy buttons for the radio and whatnot, also no DVD player for the kids for some reason even though it's the mid level trim option. (They'll just have to learn how to be bored on our road trips and get creative) I tried convincing my wife to let me buy a second gen caravan with the AWD but she was having none of that. I will say though, as much as she likes it she does miss the Outback (I'll count that as a win ) Edit: just read this after posting.
If you can just say "phuck it" as to what other people think, a minivan is such an awesome vehicle. It is the Leatherman multi-tool of cars. Good for you with no touchscreen...they suck as far as ease of use in a moving vehicle..pushy buttons FTMFW.
This may get added to my signature for it’s greatness Mark, because it’s true. They scoot too! But the looks department and marshmallowy cornering is it’s greatest downfall. Either way, I’m a soccer mom!
It puzzles me why Chrysler, Honda or Toyota don't make a sporty version (suspension, wheels and a slight power bump) to entice the car enthusiast husbands that have to utilize mom's kid hauler. Or a tuner...you would think there would be enough demand to do so, and it wouldn't be that hard.
As far as looks go, the Pacifica doesn't look all that bad. It's got more of a sporty look, up until you come around to the back lift gate but what else could you do with a minivan anyway. The wheels on mine are pretty slick looking and I like how they got away from the slimmer design and gave it that kind of old school but fresher boxy look. The Town and Country and Grand Caravan are pretty much the same vehicle but the Dodge has that more SUV looking grille. I would prefer more ground clearance but that stow and go seating is pretty slick, it's kind of uncomfortable but the kids don't care cuz they've got their own comfortable car seats.
Picked up (potentially) a new daily last week. First time buying anything on Copart, but scored this 2008 Outback Limited for a decent price. Needs some TLC though. Rad support was pushed in a few inches, but not enough to contact the timing cover. Didn't even crack/damage the rad or AC condenser core. I massaged the rad support so it's back to where it should be. I have new Depo OEM-style headlights being delivered for it tonight and then tomorrow I'm going to go pick up a bumper cover for it...4 hours away. It's Satin White Pearl which I'm finding is kind of a rare color for 08/09 so finding matching body parts is no small feat. Still need to find a hood as this one has a bit of a crease in it. I spent about 4-5 hours so far cleaning interior and shampooing carpets. It's a work in progress, but getting there...
i have a hood with a bent corner that you can look at if you want. I don't think there's a ton of damage to it. i also have a scuffed to hell legacy bumper lol
we went with a Sequoia... upgraded form, the Landcruiser... much better than a minivan haha owned one of those.. never again
I saw one of those 12 passenger sprinter vans turn onto your road by the apple place and assumed that was your's.
