Yeah, I really hope this sparks a return to little trucks. It is definitely a lot of fun for a truck. Acceleration reminds me of my 2004 WRX when I took it off the lot back in '03. Not fast, but it can definitely get out of its own way. Built on the same platform as the Bronco sport and the Escape, so this isn't sports car handling or anything. But if you are looking for "small suburban homeowner that does medium sized lumber projects or whatever, it's the right size. 4.5' bed, but in half open position on the tailgate, it can hold 4x8 sheets of drywall just fine. Since I forgot to mention it: it's a 2024 Ford Maverick XLT 2.0L Ecoboost AWD with the "black package", 4K Tow package, XLT luxury pkg and Copilot 360. Picked it up a few weeks ago.
Good luck with the new ride. We have the 2.0 Ecoboost in our 2013 Escape and it has been a good little motor so far (91k miles). It's my understanding there were a few model years that Ford had some issues with that engine (2017 thru 2019 I think I may have read), but hopefully they have things sorted by now. "Maverick" in my world will always refer to this as it was my first car (picture from the interwebs as film and processing was expensive back then and I have no pics of my exact car).
Neighbor said the same thing. "Maverick? This doesn't look like the Maverick I had out of highschool."
Its a 2024 Ford Maverick AWD XLT with a couple other packages. I am holding out and considering one myself but the rumor is the Hybrid will be able to be had with AWD in the 2025 model. Waiting to see if that wett dream comes true and how much seed it will cost to own.
Holy crap. I browse the forum pretty much exclusively on my phone now. And always vertically. I'm thinking to myself "how the hell did he see his signature, I don't see anything". Turned my phone sideways... (Apparently there's no mind blown emoji on here?) Also, what an obnoxiously long signature... Haha.
I wonder if there is some sort of “sport edition” or something? I saw one similar to this last week on the crosstown. It took me a minute to figure out what the heck it was. Lowered maverick. But looked “stock”. *shrug*
I know there is a guy on Youtube who is from Minnesota who has a lowered one. https://www.youtube.com/@PerformanceOnWheels
I'm not sure why the 2.0 is dialed back to 238 HP. Our 2013 Escape is 250 HP (on premium). Maybe that 238 is on regular. I'm kinda diggin' the Lobo even though the only use I have for a pickup is to haul around the heavy-a$$ e-bikes.
It looks to me that it needs to be slammed on the ground with bags to really highlight those Ken Block inspired black rizziez….Jason.
