No. he said 2.25 would be good enough because I still have an stock engine unless I modify it more then it should be bigger. Lets see how loud it is when It's all done by this Saturday. Just waiting for my DP and UP to come then I'm heading to Ronnie. Anyone need stock mufflers or stock exhaust from a 05 lgt? I'll sell em real cheap. $30 for 1 oem muffler

I understand the reasoning for your setup with a stock motor. However, if you plan to mod your car you'll want a bigger exhaust than that. Then you'll drop even more money. Why not do it right the first time and go 3"?

    $50 - $100 more now

    Or

    $300 - $500 later.... and that's a low ball price.

It would have been way more less of a pain in the ass to just buy a CBE. Not really much more expensive going that route, either.

I spoke with him on Tuesday... He is not looking for 350+ WHP... He is getting a catless up-pipe and a less restrictive DP... sounded like he is going with a very conservative stage 2 tune.

    wut?

    yeah that^

But 2.5" after the rear O2 sensor usually isn't a noticeable restriction until you get into the 18g range of airflow.

Just basic stage 2 for me. Up pipe for safety, DP because have you have too take it off anyways, why not. Custom Cbe for $300, Fine(at least it'll look new for a little bit)Mufflers for noise, Yeah! Ron tune for safety and reliabilty/tad bit more Hp, Sure. Next thing to do, Sway Bars. Not trying to go all out as stock was fast enough for me, as I did drive it like that for 3 years. I don't rev it or go into boost much anyways. Just when I'm pissed/mad at slow drivers. Other wise I shift at/around 2600rpm. Got to go back to work now!

I would put money on the fact that you will change your mind in less than 2 years. Just my $0.02, spend wisely now... save money later. There is a reason why the aftermarket exhaust are usually 3" pipes. 350 WHP isn't too hard to reach.... having your car max out your soon to be exhaust system .... or maybe a better way to say it. Seeing the benefits of a larger exhaust isn't too far down the road from your current plans. You don't have to go much beyond the infamous "stage 2" to make your soon to be exhaust setup a less than great idea (when you can do it right now).... just trying to save you some money man.

Let's put this another way... Why WOULDN'T you go with 3"? Fear of backpressure issues?

^ Thank you. See what the price is to go with a larger pipe. I am guessing it isn't that much. I am guessing it will be hard to justify a smaller exhaust vs a larger exhaust that you won't have to replace when you decide your car is slow again.

    http://www.angelfire.com/my/fan/Exhaust_Pipe_Size.htm

Most of us are running pipes that are bigger than we need. It's really his choice and talking him into bigger piping is unnecessary. I say if you go bigger, 2.5 would be fine. Glad you found someone to hook up your custom exhaust tho!;)

Where should I have the exhaust tip be? Flush with bottom grey plastic bumper or sticking out 1" from the bumper ? Or how would you put it if it was your's? Has a 4" round tip

    Well, since you asked...

If I had dual Magnaflows with 4" round tips, I'd probably do it flush.

Like this (should also give you an idea how a 3" exhaust will look/fit):

Just called Tims and He'll do the 3" from the cat back back to 2.25 at the mufflers for $370. Boxer rumble with stock DP? The Invidia Dp came, now just waiting for my Up to arrive.

Not sure about this but My cattless Invidia DP just came and am wondering if I should just have Tims Exhaust install it for me since he's doing an custom cbe, so it'll line up right. I asked him about this and he said I should just do it all at once so it'll be easier for him. Wasn't planning too but. So should I or should I just wait until my UP comes(if it ever will come). I have the v1 AP.

So any issue running catless DP with the cobb Ap v1 stage 2 other then boost creep? I wouldn't go past 5k rpm. Should I just wait til the catless UP gets here or go ahead with install for now.

Can you reschedule until one day before you see Ronnie? Or have it done and drive it strait over to RS?

Just got em installed. Sound so nice with the rumble now. Don't know why I didn't do that 3 years ago. I can hear the turbo and the stock BOV now. I can't stop thinking of driving her, just to listen to the sound of the rumble. Kinda intimating sound. This is with the stock up and down pipe still for now. Waiting for the UP to get here.

No. I won't fall for it. Only waiting for my Up pipe to arrive(it's been 3 weeks now now). Then it's all in the hands of Ronnie and Matt at RS Motors. Maybe sway bars for handing but that's it for power.
