Late thursday night I missed hitting something the size of a dog but clipped a mailbox instead. IMG_0231.JPG
total bill comes to $3220 thank good for insurance, goes in tommorow to be fixed.
Since my car was going in decide to get all the upper plastics and head liner painted black. IMG_0239.JPG
Just wondering if there is anything else I should do before I put back together? (in about a week)
Any suggestion would be great, just looking for something diy on the cheap for performance, sound control things of that nature.

All black! Sound deadening sheets (that's a huge open ceiling and it would be good to cover it!) Although, SD is not cheap....It's like $10-12/sheet and you'll need something like 4-6 sheets to cover the ceiling. (worth it tho imo)

To paint the seatbelt covers that the seatbelt runs through black; pull the seatbelts out as far as you can, use masking tape to mask the belt about 1-2 feet. You'll need to mask under(through) the part that you unbolted form the b-pillar(14mm). Kind of hard to explain. You can see the part i'm talking about in your pic just above the (in about a week) part of your post hanging by the lower b-pillar section. Mask through it and tape the actual belt to avoid overspray. Then you'll have to spray it from one side at a time and let it dry, then flip it and repeat. You can also take the slides off of the b-pillars(the 2-14mm bolts that are in your pic) and paint those too. Lmk if you need me to elaborate more! Duplicolor vinyl and fabric spray ftw.

    Mask your windows
    Shake can of black paint
    Put inside car
Shoot can with a sling shot
    Everything is now black

Now would be a good opportunity to hardwire any electronics that you want on or near your windshield... radar detector (mounted by rear view mirror and tapped at dome light), g-g-g-g-g-garmin navi, heads up display, etc...

You could also take Josh's ricer advice and sound deaden the roof. Adding tons of mass to the highest point on the car isn't great for performance, but it'll help drown out some of "Good lord I'm trapped in a tin can" sounds you get when it's raining.

Flat screen ;) like the others said, wire up something you would use daily so it's "so fresh and so clean clean" or sd.. A quiet ride is nice sometimes.

Yeah I know what you are talking about they are out now had to leave the driver side in to drive to body shop.

I have read about people using a high density expand a foam in frame rails in unibody cars to stiffen them up. didn't know if thats something anyone has done and if it would be worth doing in the ceiling?

As far as SD they make a spray or roll on SD works on the same idea as undercoat works well used it on some Bass competition vans. doesn't weight alot but is still kinda spendy, been up in the air if I'm going to do it.

Well unless you plan on running subs in the car, you probably don't "need" it. I've been dealing with heavy vibrations from my single 10'' competition grade woofer and am going to SD the trunk lid and ceiling. The rest of the car was done after the flood while the interior was out of it. :)

In my current place I don't have the space or time so I had an upholstery shop that we do business to do the work for a good price. All said and done cost just over $300. i know i could of done it myself for cheaper but the quality would of not been aas good.

The idea was there but not the funding:( and had no idea which way to go if I had gotten one. (still need to haul the kids from time to time)

the guy that did it works in waite park. I would think just about any upholstry shop could it.

the price would be more like $500 to $600. i kinda got a deal since we do some work with him and he kinda quoted me on the low side then when he say all the peices kinda secound guessed himself.

*threadjack* I could hook it up for half of what he payed for his. But the headliner would be paint that would match the plastics unless you wanted to pay an upholstery shop to redo the headliner. I've done suede, but it no stick well and there is a fine line on how much glue that you can use.

In fact, if ANYONE wants their interior done as far as color change goes...i am currently unemployed and have alot of free time to get it done for you! Hit me up and we can talk about it.*/threadjack* :D

I could have travelled...slept on the couch...and still hooked ya up for around 1/2 price.:D I wouldn't have wrapped the headliner with new fabrics tho. I would like to see their work in person sometime if you do in fact make it to the cities.
