So I have noticed that when Hondas drive past me, they rev their engines. I don't think it is a race thing... Any ideas? It has happened multiple times.

i see it as a mutual whats up. you can usually tell if its a dork trying to race you or something if its continuous ass hat revving.

or you can take it as a show of respect from the slower car...

I think you got it. Some people create this false/IMAGINARY sense of an adverserial relation to other drivers that might just be thinking "Damn, I wish my broke ass could afford a damn subaru, I'll rev my motor so you know you have nothing to fear from my gehto boosted honda"

Huh... funny, since I'm still drivin my DD nissan 200sx, all I get is Pick-ups and LOTS of Jetta's revving me or doing short quick pick ups like they wanna race. I just ignore them, completely and let em look weird like they're having problem shifting.

I have noticed most pontiac drivers try to get you to race. Seems to always be Grand am's and Grand Prix's with young male drivers. 60% of the time all of the time if they have a gxp they will bug you to race. Just go the speed limit around a clover leaf and you will have lost them haha.

    You're probably right.

I find the clover leaf escape entertaining with all cars though.

That's a recommended speed. That's for grandmas in their 1974 Ford Grenadas.

Kids in Hondas used to rev at me all the time when I had my '91 Mustang GT, it was pretty much a daily occurrence. I've rarely gotten it since then, and NEVER since I got my WRX. Now I just get looks from guys in Evos and SRT-4s, and waves from guys in Subarus.

I love the hondoodlers with the 1.5" exhaust plumbing and the far can clamped to the end. My exhaust is somewhat loud, but not like those obnoxious dragonfly-on-crack sounding fart can boys.

When they rev, throw 'em the shocker.

where im at the people i get it most from are the worthless 4banger eclipses actually...none turbo charged 50% of the time i just ignore them or give them a 1/8mile run and real them in either is fun. Then oddly enough had a guy in a firebird want to race as well haha. My biggest petpev is when i want someone to race me in this case this 98 corvette. he wouldnt race..i go and stop and talk to some freinds in a parking lot this guy drives by literally 3 times in 45minutes.

just see it as blindness. people dont understand that throwing 1k into turbo goodies on most hondas would make 95% of the cars on here look like toys.

How much reliability does $1,000 represent when you use it to bring your honda up to 300whp?

(Not a counter-point, I'm just not sure. I've never seen one, myself.)

I call those... the one percenters..... they are the ones that suprise you and usualy you know when you are dealing with one of those. There are some respectible hondas out there, but the majority of them are riced out turd slow cars that have unpainted bodykits that rattle so loud you can bearly hear tires squeel, or their exhaust ping away.

It's not limited to Hondas. You could throw any car make in there short of the high end luxury cars. Domestic to import, they all have their good examples and bad.
