I am looking at getting some wheels for the brat. I am curious what offset I should be running, or does it not really matter?
haha, like anyone here would know :laugh: you won't find anything very close. the nissan 6-lugs are as close as you'll find, and toyota's are pretty similar, Chevy's are the worst (stick way out). most 6-lug wheels that you'd be looking at are listed by the back spacing, not the offset, so it's hard to compare. I might have an extra set of toyota wheels in a month or so. but they're alloys IIRC, so you'd have to drill the hubs to 6-lug, instead of the wheels like Jeff did.
I just found a good write up on drilling the hubs. assuming it isnt impossible to get the hubs off I think I will go that route. I thinkI might get the same wheels jeff has. If having some goofy back spacing wont kill it (wheel bearings?) the price is right (33ea). I also found a place that can make a hub adapter (4x140 -> 5x100/114.3). but thats too spendy for me.
??? do tell! This is an extremely common discussion on the USMB, and have yet to come up with anything. SJR makes a 4x140 to 5x205 (old volkswagon). and there was one guy who had some made, but couldn't get them to fit snug over the hubs, and they wound up breaking the studs. you should see if Wakaba can get some subaru 14" alloys! otherwise, seriously. I'll probably have an extra set of Toyota wheels with decent tires on them (stock tires should fit well after the lift) here in a few weeks.
hmm... what size will the yota tires be? http://www.srd.net.nz/index.php?cPath=1_4 they will do custom ones for pretty much any pattern. Although it will be like $360 + s/h from new zealand, they can do it.
wow, those are cool tires are 225/75r15 (either that or 235, I'm not sure.....somewhere in the 28.5" range)
I can see if a guy at work has time to make up adapters, if you want me to check. stumbled on these the other day http://medford.craigslist.org/car/572024248.html
