I have some wheels that have a +42mm off set and was wondering if i could use some wheel spacers for the right off set. Let me know if any of you guys have ever used them or have them. Thanks

how wide are stock wrx wheels (I'm too lazy to search for it lol)? offset really doesn't mean anything without wheel width.

always keep in mind that the offset number is HEAVILY dependent on rim width. without one number, the other is completely irrelevant.

my 17x8 Subaru Fitment rotas are +48.

I used to have a VW and a lot of people with them use wheel spacer but the only problem with using them is that they will put extra strain on your wheel bearings

The wider the wheel, the less offset you will need to maintain the proper scrub radius.

Spacers are only going to make your offset less. The only way to increase it would be to shave material from the inside mounting surface of the wheel

Depending how the manufacturer designed the wheel, there is a chance there could be excess material there. Not knowing the design parameters, I sure as hell would not risk it.

    OFFSET:

It is the MIDDLE WIDTH of the rim to rim-to-hub contact measurement. a 17x9 wheel w/ +53mm off set will stick out MORE than a 17x7.5 w/ +53mm offset. Add 12mm spacers to the 17x7.5 and it'll stick out about the same as the 17x9 wheel.

Adding ANY spacer to your wheel setup will push the wheels towards the fender. Adding 2mm spacers will make your +42 go to a +40mm, which would push your wheels out 2mm.

What you want to do is just get a different rim altogether if you are afraid of shaving the hub-to-rim section on the rim, if that is possible??? This is how you're going to get the offset closer tothe OEM Subaru offsets; +55, +53, +48

yeah i just bought some rims and it didn't fit. the lug pattern was correct but it wouldn't go in and sit on the hub.

You probably didn't get the hubcentric rings.

I am running 18x7.5 +40. They fit just fine. 70k, no wheel bearing problems yet.
